The kids programs looked extensive, and the room they use for the kiddos concealed 90% of the noise from the rest of the library. I didn't even need to use my headphones. The staff were so helpful and kind. You can tell they truly love what they do for their community through this library. I loved the large selection of Spanish books, and was helped in finding easier ones to read to practice my Spanish skills. Highly recommend for anyone to visit. They have plenty of free parking, and tons of great food options nearby too!

It only comprises one container of puzzles with numerous missing pieces, and no other playthings are available. On the bright side, I appreciated the secluded location of the kids area which made me feel we wouldn't disturb others. The abundance of small cushioned seats was also a nice touch. Despite the shortcomings, my children still managed to have an enjoyable time. In conclusion, it was a decent experience, but it's unlikely that we will revisit this place.

I had been wanting to visit the Rosenberg Library since booking my vacation to Galveston. This…read morelibrary did not disappoint! The Rosenberg Library is huge! On the fourth floor, they have it dedicated to the history of Galveston. It was interesting to learn more about the 1900 hurricane that devastated Galveston. The library did a fantastic job with that exhibit as well as the Galveston's African American history and the history of Galveston in general. There is also a rare book room as this floor and very clean restrooms. The third floor was the young adult and computer area which we did not go to, but it did look nice. The second floor had books, board games, video games, DVDs, audiobooks, and more to check out. (We needed up checking out a board game for our stay.) This floor also had magazines, a community jigsaw puzzle, a small used bookshop area (with books available for cheap and in great condition), and a few other things. The ground floor hosts the children's area which we did not go to, but it looked like a cute and engaging area for children. The circulation desk is on the ground floor as well. Staff was all very friendly as well. There's also ample free parking in the parking lot for the library as well. Definitely check out this library when you're in Galveston.

Decided on a whim to apply for a library card within the Brazoria County Library system. Well…read moreactually, maybe it wasn't on a whim. I needed to locate a book for a discussion (professionally related) and the Pearland Library was the only location to have it. So shout out to the Brazoria County Library system! Thanks! I've visited this location once to pickup my library hold. I explored for a short period of time but not for very long. I was able to grab my hold off the shelf with ease and get it checked out with the library staff member. Kudos to them because I didn't have my physical library card with me. I chose to give them a call first to ensure not having my physical card wouldn't be a problem. Staff members were nice and helpful. This location is spacious. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely return. Oh something else to note - a huge green flag (!!) for this library system is that you can apply for the library card online and they will send your card to you in the mail. Talk about accessibility, am I right?

The library isn't overly large nor is it super tiny; it seems as it's just right to some. There…read moreisn't enough tables located in quiet areas. The children's section wasn't completely separated from the adult section as I could hear rambunctious kids talking oh so loudly and playing as if they don't understand the concept of silence. It does seem like the selection of audiobooks and DVDs is far greater than what Parker Williams and Freeman library has combined. Though, this isn't a Harris county library branch. I'm not sure if that's the reason why they don't have wifi for guests. The staff wasn't very welcoming as when I walked in I wasn't greeted, just stared at like I was an alien from outer space. However, one of the shelving assistant that had a Irish accent or British accent was polite and showed that she was friendly. They have early voting going on now in a separate room. There aren't any tile floors just carpet and no bad odor inside. Also, the parking wasn't limited meaning there is lots of spots available. It's pretty convenient to find, if you're traveling from Green Tee just drive straight onto Liberty Dr., it's on the right side across from City Hall. Just off of 518, right before you get to the episcopal church.

One would think that as someone who doesn't read, the library is the last place I'd be. However,…read moreI've found the it to be a lot more pleasant than meets the eye and there are plenty of reasons to stop by. For instance: :: This location is the flagship of all HPL locations and consists of multiple buildings that include the Central Library as well. It is a massive city block with ample amounts of outdoor space with underground parking. :: The library card, MYLink, is completely free for Texas residents. Anyone who isn't living here can score a $40 annual membership. The benefits include free access to many of the libraries programs and amenities. This includes reserving rooms for study or meetings, indoor / outdoor WiFi, and even take home tablets and laptops. :: Speaking of the WiFi, it's fast. Taking a video call while streaming HD vids with zero lag is a wonderful thing. The coverage is extensive, with outdoor and indoor connectivity and I haven't found any dead zones just yet. :: Their outdoor area aka "Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza" is really a nice spot to gather and/or spend time in especially during great weather. :: The library closes every day at 6pm from Monday-Thursday and 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Late night library visits are totally not a thing. :: This might not seem obvious to first timers, but this is a lowkey excellent place for people watching. There are many interesting characters floating around the library, some of whom are utilizing it for shelter, restrooms, and likely the WiFi and computer usage. That being said, finding someone passed out in one of the meeting rooms and also out cold on a bench in the same day is rather impressive. :: My passport was expiring and renewing the process couldn't have been easier than filing my application here. They took my photo, helped with my paperowrk, and was very diligent with the timeline for rushed and regular delivery options. While it may seem cliché, this HPL is worth the visit since they have a little something for everyone. The staff is pleasant and it really is a quiet place to learn a little something, while doing a lot.

Except my library card wouldn't scan to allow me to self check-out. Ms. Deborah, with 2 min until closing time, offered to replace my library card without any hurry or angst to leave for the day. Her patience and courtesy was appreciated! Now, I'm leaving with a 120 year iconic library card in tow showcasing Rocket Man!
