The people God has already brought into our community feel like family ... so loving, caring, thoughtful, and growing. We're learning what God's already doing in our city and what role God uniquely has for us to play in Indian Trail, in Charlotte, and together with God's other churches in the area and around the world. We're pressing into the fullness God has for his church as all his ethnicities live in community together. And we're inviting God to guide our lives and hearts as he shows us how to follow him and love him more deeply. We love it. If you're already at a home church, you should probably stay there and do what God's got for you, but if you're ... (1) not currently with a church ... (2) been looking for a community of Jesus disciples ... (3) new to the Charlotte / Indian Trail area ... (4) recovering from being burned by church in the past ... (5) wanting to grow with us as we learn all this together ... (6) interested in what it means to follow this Jesus guy ... Come join us. You're welcome here. :)

Worth a look and better if your camera actually captures the images that you thought that you took. It is approaching its bicentennial soon enough. The marker has text on both sides. On the one, "This church was begun in 1834 as Antioch Chapel of Ebenezer Church under the leadership of Rev. John O. Richards on land of the Steales and Workmans, 3 mi. south of Rock Hill. Mission moved in 1858 to this site, obtained from A. T. Black and later paid for by Mrs. Ann Hutchinson White and J. Spratt White. The church was organized on Nov. 13, 1869, with forty-six charter members led by Rev. R. E. Cooper, pastor." On the other side, titled "Church Leaders" it reads "First ruling elders: J. F. Workman, H. H. Hart, R. D. L. McLeod. First deacons: Wm. Whyte, A. H. White, J. N. Steele, R. W. Workman, David Gordon. Three pastors have been moderators of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church in the U. S.: Rev. W. T. Hall, Rev. W. L. Lingle, Rev. Alexander Sprunt. The longest pastorate has been that of Rev. Francis W. Gregg, 1910- 1947." The church is on Main Street near downtown Rock Hill and is worth a stop. The current structure was built in 1894 and was added to the National Register in 1992. Our organization was having a retreat. A night of bonding and team building. As we were coming to an end a member of the staff entered and interrupted our final activity saying how rude and disrespectful we were being by not being out of the building at 10. He proceeded to turn the lights out on us and stand and watch as we cleaned up. After this rude encounter a leader of our organization went to apologize for us being 10 minutes behind on leaving the building, she was told "this is not a joke and very rude and disrespectful." I myself being of Christian faith have never and could never imagine being so rude towards a group of young women, who are trying to do a good thing, and am very disturbed by the way this man approached this situation with our group of young ladies. Again this is no reflection on the service or the message received at this temple but reserving a room there was a complete nightmare because of the disrespectful way in which we were treated tonight.
