Jason got started and it was evident that he was passionate about his work and kept things tidy. I was able to pay him in increments as he requested and used electronic payment which was very convenient and secure. He completed the project in a very reasonable timeframe and I was quite pleased with his work and work ethic. Not sure how much a contractor would've charged but I was pleased with the job and the reasonable price I paid. I'd highly recommend Jason as a handyman and would use him again if the need arises.

Ha! We first encountered Art when he took a referral from our home warranty company years ago. Since then, if my husband can't manage something, we call Art! He is "good peeps" through and through.. And just a few of the jobs he's tackled for us are: painting, laying tile, wood construction, installing and building cabinets, fixing a shower wall leak--I sometimes wonder if there's anything he CAN'T do!!!! So I'm going to do the right thing and share him with you. He often arrives with his trusty steed ( Dalmation dog,"Terk,") by his side! Terk is the nicest, smartest dog I've ever met and he remains in Art's van with food, water and chew toys until his Dad if finished. Oh... and Art's fees are more than reasonable! Website states they provide 24/7 service, but the owner was extremely reluctant to help because it was "his day off." He treated me like I was a HUGE inconvenience and wasting his time. I sent him some pictures of the broken pump as per his request. Of course, while trying to find the information he needed on the pump, he treated me like I was an idiot. I told him to take his time as it was New Years Day, and didn't want to pressure him. I drove into town and my text messaging was off for only about 30 minutes. Next thing I know, the owner is literally SCREAMING and CURSING at me by text. Yes, you heard it... cursing at me. What kind of business owner CURSES at his new customers?! I have never experienced such an unprofessional behavior, lazy attitude, and atrocious service in my life. This guy needs a lesson in professionalism and manners. I'm actually glad he didn't actually come and attempt repairs - he probably would have created a huge mess, and tried to overcharge or blame his customers. What a mess of a business this guy is! You're hiring and working with thinkers because Rob is an attorney by training and Tina has been an entrepreneur her whole life. This combination means people who have the ability to see the big picture and also know how and what it takes to have the little pieces in between all fit to bring to life what you envision for your build outs. After a few frustrating months of asking & calling every contractor I could find around the island, it was such a relief when Robert from RAD Builders responded within a day and then offered to call me to talk about the work I needed done. Not long after, he visited the house to get check out the bathroom/shower that we needed fixed and to provide me with the quote. Throughout the process all the way to when the work was done, Robert kept me well informed and was always prompt and thorough when answering all of my questions and concerns. Robert worked with us based on our set budget and the overall quality of services we received exceeded our expectations. We are grateful that we finally found an honest and reliable team that will help us keep our family home strong & taken care of as my Dad would have wanted. Bamboo Living 15-2903 Pahoa Village Rd, Pāhoa, HI 96778…read moreModular home builder Alexander Ambard My wife and I paid Bamboo Living $252,969.66 for a bamboo house kit along with design and architectural services for a fully approved permit to build our home. Bamboo Living submitted a useless permit application to the county with gross omissions such as no plumbing plan included. The permit application was denied by the county for over a dozen different reasons. We asked for a refund and we were told publicly we would be given one. We were also told publicly by Bamboo Living that the company does not want us as clients anymore and that they were no longer willing to build our house kit for a variety of reasons. Over a year has passed and we have received no refund of any kind. We were required to go to mediation as per our contract and spent over $30,000 to do so. Bamboo Living refused to agree to any settlement offers. They then refused to enter arbitration while citing supposed poverty. We have asked for a full refund on all payments made to this company. We are now going to the authorities with this now that we have given a very reasonable amount (1 year) of time to refund us. The last time we left a review here for Bamboo Living they compelled us to remove it by threatening to sue us for "slander" after saying they intended to refund us. We have waited a year for this refund, and have received nothing. We have contacted the Hawaii attorney general's office and will be pursuing criminal charges if our funds are not returned.
