Stopped to browse as you do and wasn't pounced on like some garages their cars have full description in the window so didn't have to ask anyone for mileage, spec etc (not seen that before).. But a costly browse as I spotted a Pug convertible that I knew my wife would love (and love me for buying it....) A fair deal, new MOT and service thrown in without hassle or asking, they even got the road tax for me at cost. A first in my car buying expereince. I left them poorer but didn't feel robbed as 1 or 2 car purchases I've made before and suffered afterwards. Pushing aside all the 'rumours' of second hand…read morecar dealers we came here having pre-searched our vehicle on the internet and McCarthy Cars kept on cropping up. We live reasonably close so decided to pop down and see the options in person. Parking is available near by and the site is across two lots providing a variety of make and model of cars to look at. A family run company, established here for decades, meant that I felt a little more comfortable about purchasing from here. It wasn't a site that had popped up and likely to disappear just as quickly also. We were pretty much left to look around without any hassle and when we found some we liked, were offered to take a look inside. They provided guidance, pointing out the different gadgets and workings of the insides. They were also happy for test drives to happen and for us to take them for a drive by ourselves. We did not encounter any heavy sale but Mr McCarthy, was on hand to talk through the spec's of the different vehicles and very happy to show paperwork and checks they perform on all their cars. There was no bartering here however, the aftercare help and assistance provided meant that I felt this wasn't needed. All cars are RAC checked and they provide a full service before you pick it up along with MOT up to date and taxed. The car we were interested in did have some little scratches on the side which I was told would be removed. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive about what they would see as 'removed' and I would see as 'removed' but, decided put my trust in them and have a little preparation for a discussion on said 'removed scratches'! Having come back a week later to pick up the car, I was very impressed. You would not know that there were scratches on the side. Mr McCarthy lived up to his word to trust him! His son, James, assisted us on the finalisation of paperwork and signing up for RAC cover (also comes as part of the deal) which is an added bonus on top of everything else. Father and sons were all very informed, personable and easy to deal with. It has been a very pleasant experience so far and would recommend them to anyone looking for their 'pre-owned' car.

As the last reviwer said, great choice, lovely clean cars very well laid out, staff very friendly…read moreand helpfull, not at all pushy ( which is a pleasent change for a car dealer) they have a nice cafe on site where you can relax and take your time to think about the cars before leaping in to anything. they dont mind how many cars you test drive ( we drove 3 )But the best bit was the prices, I found them to be very cheap, compared to other dealers and the auto trader. I think where other people have come unstuck in comparing prices is the fact that jefferies farm often have very high spec cars, leather , aircon, ect. so you have to make sure you are comparing like for like. I found them to be very good on price. they gave me quite a good deal on my old car too, not quite as much as i had hoped but not bad. on the whole very good I thought. recommend - yes
