When I returned home to retire, I had brought back three years of tax problems along with me. My previous tax preparer was actually negligent. Long story. I had tried 2 firms around there where I was working in Alabama, looking to fix things up, but the projections they were offering to me back then there were even scary. THEY BOTH SUGGESTED THAT IT COULD TAKE ME WELL OVER A YEAR TO RESOLVE THINGS! The only reason that I didn't sign up then and there, was the simple fact that I didn't have the retainer(s) that they both wanted from me up front . So, I'm home, still wondering what to do, when my neighbor suggests Rosa. I had already met her before. Her family runs the deli downstairs from me, so it was easy for me to trust her. She doesn't rent a big fancy office somewhere, so her clients don't have to pay for that. Bottom line: My last settlement hit my bank exactly 71 days after she got on my case. The oldest problem year's return actually had to be a paper check sent snail mail. The other 2 year's returns quickly followed direct deposit. .So, WELL OVER A YEAR???? Her tax acumen is as good as any. When every thing was settled , I was awaiting the bill. I was expecting a hit, but also knowing how fast she was able to help me, I was ready for anything. I was so pleasantly surprised, that I actually asked her about it. She told me that she goes by the hour, and that my case was mostly filing. That was much different from what I had been led to believe in Alabama. This is the only thing about her that I can absolutely attest to: Rosa Urbina is simply a good, honest person. Obviously, these last few years, I've been happy to refer her to anybody I run across. I've had only one come back at me, claiming that she's too expensive. Knowing that person, I can only recall how Rosa treated me. And, I'm not the only one that she has helped over the years. A few years ago I had a care provider with tax problems. She lived in Juarez, and was helpless concerning her U.S. taxes. Rosalita offered to help her for free. That what I'm talking about. read more
