Recently, I was admitted to Baptist Hospital with a severe case of the flu. From the moment that I…read moreentered the emergency room until I was released, I could not have asked for better care. I spent five days there with the first three under quarantine. I was informed in detail as to the medications being administered, why, and what would be the expected results. I was on a prescribed diet and once again was informed as to why in simple, understandable layman language. Regardless of a staff members position, whether a doctor, nurse, dietician, or even someone on the custodial staff, before leaving the room I was always asked if I needed anything or if they could do anything to make me more comfortable. Of course they would need to ask my nurse before giving me anything but, they asked! The staff was always polite and respectful and came to work with their sense of humor. The whole time, I felt that I was a special patient. Of course I was not but, this was how I was treated and how I felt. Truly, I believe that their great care care overall contributed my very rapid recovery. Two of my nurses, Amy and Jennifer were absolutely priceless. They always asked me about my condition and how I felt, in my own opinion. Many evenings they would take time out to just have a conversation with me, not related to my illness, but just on a person to person level. No one wants to be hospitalized but with my recent experience with these great and caring people, this is where I would want to receive my care.

I completed registration at 11:47 and finished my appointment at 12:16. During that time, it was…read moreclear that the front desk was significantly understaffed for the volume and needs of patients. While the staff member working was professional, helpful, and doing her absolute best with significant hustle, she was responsible for answering phones, managing check-ins, assisting with registration issues, and supporting lab-related duties all at once. I also observed multiple patients in the lobby having difficulty with the digital registration process, including an older gentleman who appeared unfamiliar with smartphone use and another patient who needed additional assistance after attempting registration himself. The staff member was very very willing to help, but was frequently pulled in a multitude of different directions. Given these demands, it is not reasonable for one person to cover all front desk, phone, registration support (for multiple people) , and lab coordination duties. At minimum, two staff members should be assigned to the front area to improve efficiency, reduce wait times, and ensure patients receive adequate assistance, especially with registration. The staff was great!

The ER crew and doctors were attentive and didn't take long to find out her health issues. She was admitted and had to stay until March 30, 2026. (With follow ups with her doctors within the week) She was placed in room 231. The entire staff were very good to our little Mama. From all of the shift nurses, PT, meals, housekeeping, and of course, Doctor "Dan" and Heart Specialist, Dr. Gubitosa -- and anyone else that I may have forgot to mention. They found the problems and took very good care of her. Her room was kept very clean and she felt very safe there. She did have a couple of favorite nurses, however, I cannot remember their names. (Morning crew shift) Just want to say thank you so much from our family. And yes, we live here in LaFollette. I had my daughter at LaFollette in 1979. So, I have watched and witnessed a lot of changes within this hosptital. We appreciate this hospital and it's staff.

I never wait more than a few minutes to get called back and shortly after her nurse leaves the room she is promptly in. She listens to my concerns , evaluates possibilities and give me options as to the plan of care that we can try. She always has taken ever step to insure there is no underlying conditions left untreated. On one particular office visit I had been having pelvic pain that had intensified for a week. I she ran lab work, urinalysis, and had me scheduled for an ultrasound with a few days. I get my results of any test within 1-3 days and I have never waited more than a day to get any results back from any type of scans. If she says she's is sending in prescription you can bank that it's already waiting for you at the pharmacy when you leave your appointment. I have even gotten follow up calls from my appointment from her nurse stating that Brandy wanted to know the status of my condition and how I was feeling. She takes also in consideration that I have private insurance and some of the new medication are way to costly. Several instances she has printed out a Good Rx coupon and told me where I could get that medication the cheapest. Now ask me if I'm willing to give up that kind of care? Absolutely NOT
