I live about a mile from Ivory Meadows Pet Lodge and have found two dogs from there wandering Route 160. This morning I found a Great Pyrenees in the middle of the road and took it to the business owner's door. The glass screen door was closed but not latched, the inside door was open an inch or so, and a wire dog chain was leading from somewhere inside the house out the two doors. I woke up the business owner, who came to the door in her pajamas. I asked if this was her dog and she said, "how did you get out?" (maybe through the two open doors!) She had two other dogs in the home with her. I told her this was the second dog I found of hers. She said nothing! No thank you, no nothing. I am not sure if this was her personal pet or not. When I mentioned this to people at Sheetz after this incident, people all began saying "that place is known for that." The last time I found one of their dogs, also a Great Pyrenees, I called the number on the dogs collar. The dog owners were out of the area on vacation and had to call the Lodge and have the business owner pick up the dog at my house. I cannot imagine I am the only semi-neighbor with these stories. I would never take my pet there. read more
