My car is due an ITV in a couple of months, but as I will be away on holiday during this time I decided to book an early ITV at my local Centre, Albox, so my car will be legal - assuming it would pass.
I turned up at the Albox Centre, using the Keyboard to get access to one of the two gents behind the counter. I sat and watched, observing how very laid back it all was, hoping my Ticket Number would appear on the roof-mounted Screen. Nothing changed. My Ticket number might as well have been a Lottery Ticket with the chances of being called millions-to-one. And that is how it seemed, especially as the two individuals behind the counter ran out of customers and sat back in their chairs with their hands behind their heads as if relaxing.
I decided to gain their attention. I approached them, asking if they spoke English. One chap pointed a finger towards the other, inferring he did. He, the English speaking chap put up a hand with a pointing finger as if to suggest I needed to watch the Screen for my number to appear.
Ignoring the screen watching massage, I asked if it was possible to book an ITV for my car on an appropriate date, as shown on a slip of previously written paper with given dates. He shrugged his shoulders and said, " No". The Internet is off, he added. I was then presented with a card that gave a web site and a telephone number. He said I should use this.
I went home and did.
The system was reasonably simple to follow on the web-site, and I seemed to secure a date & time. Then when I pressed the screen's 'FINISH' button, a message said my car was not insured so the date and time booking was cancelled.
I tried phoning the number, as shown on the Card, but was cut off time-and-again. That number proved to be useless.
I returned to the ITV Centre the following day, to ask if the Booking I supposedly was perhaps current... or not. I got a Ticket for 'Questions and queries', but as previously was left waiting while not much was happening.
I left after an age without knowing if my booking was/is current.
My impression of the Albox ITV Centre is, it needs to be reviewed in how its customers are treated, especially non-Spanish speaking. read more
