It's just lunch, Cincinnati This service is extremely expensive. I paid for a package that promised me 12 dates in 12 months. I also was led to believe that I would get feedback on my dates and they would be specifically for me, in reality you only get that service if you pay for the next level, which was not cleared yet at the time. I'm about halfway through my dates, they often skip months and are very difficult to get a hold of. Usually I get very little information about my date, they are usually in my age range and in the Cincinnati area and that looks like they're only qualification. RUN AWAY FROM IT'S JUST LUNCH!!! Worst financial investment in my entire 30 years on planet earth. I've had 4 dates with women I was completely incompatible with. Women I would have NEVER gone for in real life. High level, they were overall self centered, materialistic, and high strung type A personality. I specifically dictated I didn't want to match with high strung type A "feminist" type women. The ONLY thing I bonded with these women over is how awful It's Just Lunch is and how much they regret their decision to join. 4 dates, one-and-done for all 4. I asked "Julie" (you never know if it's their real name because I've heard from some strange matchmakers; Obed, Laquanda, etc.) for a good faith partial refund of my $2,500 wasted. I asked for $1,000 back b/c I was so dissatisfied and she BS'd me and played some games for as long as possible. She even told me (As a VP) she didn't have that authority. Really?! Truth is she and the company are trying to hold onto my money at all costs. Julie asked me to take down my review on Google because they re-activated my expired account in good faith. I didn't want 2 more lousy dates with high strung self-centered women. I wanted a less than half refund based on my horrible experience. Horrible dating service! HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! Do not fall for this scam! I have been a member of IJL for 8 months, and gone on a sum total of 4 dates. That works out to $365 per date. And the dates were not good! Totally unprofessional, they do not answer phone calls or emails, their "direct line" is just an answering machine, which they never listen to. If you call corporate, you just get the run around, sent from voicemail to voicemail with no one every calling you back or addressing your issues. Your "dating director" changes every few months without notice. They have no clue who you are or what you are looking for. Their descriptions of your date are "he's 5'10" with brown hair and brown eyes and works in sales"... for every date!!! All communications are canned and completely unpersonal. I can't give IJL even one star. The "service" is an easy way for them to rip me off, and I allowed it by believing the hype and not reading the reviews. They make no effort to get to know me so as to know the type man I may match with. They do not respond to voicemails or emails. The less effort they make, the better they like it. Forget about personalized attention. Once you pay the fee, you are all but forgotten. To anyone reading this....pay attention. It is too much money to throw out the window like I did. IJL is no better than eHarmony...it just costs A LOT more. I wouldn't mind the fee if the effort to find a match for me was at the level you would think it would be. If I could leave zero stars, I would. They misrepresented what they could do. I asked for men my age without kids, etc. and they told me that that had plenty of men that matched my profile and requests, but then kept setting me up with men with kids, etc. Complete waste of money. read more

Updating my review. It has been about 6 months and I have now had nearly 15 introductions/dates. I have been to a bunch more new places and meet some very nice women! and a number of them have lead to more than just the one introduction date. Anton works hard for me and has kept me busy. My experience with It's Just Lunch far exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical about the idea of a dating service. But without exception, the men they introduced me to were successful professionals who were clearly looking for a companion who they could enjoy on many levels. I would not have imagine there were that many single middle-aged men out there! Didn't know a "follow-up" to the dates was coming as part of the service. This follow-up session comes after several dates. I thought the person from IJL handling the session was most cordial. Interesting is learning something that your dates might pick-up about you that you've wondered, but kind of knew of yourself. Interesting is also learning something about yourself coming across the dates you wouldn't have guessed. The session was kind of fun. They should have a Zero Stars designation. Run in the opposite direction! These bimbos lie about everything and pay absolutely no attention to the criteria you set for your 'exciting matches'. (Puke at will) If you do decide to sign up, insist on at least a 20% discount on whatever exorbitant price they quote you--that's the discount they usually give to all men who sign up. and write into the contract that if the first 3 matches don't meet your criteria, they refund you the balance of your 'investment' and you are under no further obligation.
