My daughter wears a size 0 and there were about 10 dresses available for her to choose from. One thing I urge this store to do is to double check the garments after customers try them on. We did notice that some of the dresses were damaged from people trying them on, whether they had make up stains or beading was falling off. All in all we did make a purchase of one dress for almost $600.

I was pleasantly surprised when I made a Christmas return to the Dante St. store. The sales women were very helpful and personable and the store was much larger than I thought. They have everything from formal wear (maybe just because it's carnival season) to casual wear and PJs. The clothing styles don't completely mesh with my own, but I did find a couple of very cute jackets that I'm sure I'll love for years to come. Plus right now is their big sale so they were 70% off which allowed me to purchase both rather than one.

We spotted one in the window that we loved, so we went upstairs to check it out. A clerk asked if we needed anything, and we happily said yes--we were looking for the dress in the window and just wanted to check the sizes and availability. Her response? "There are four dresses in the window," delivered in a pretty snarky tone, like we were clueless. It caught us off guard. We clarified that we meant the one with the floral pattern, and she immediately pointed us toward the sale section instead. At that point, I honestly wish we had just walked out. What made it worse was what happened next. While we kept browsing, two other women came upstairs, and the same clerk greeted them warmly and even offered them water. One said yes, and the clerk happily went to get it. The difference in how we were treated was hard to ignore. I've always liked Perlis and the quality of their clothing, so I'll still shop there--but only at the Covington location. I won't be returning to the Uptown store. Management should really address how customers are treated upstairs. Not everyone who can afford to shop there is going to walk in dressed up--some of us are in shorts, flip-flops, or workout clothes. That shouldn't affect the level of service. Pretty disappointing experience overall.

We found a few that she liked however,…read morethey were extremely overpriced $400 for a dress you were going to wear once is unnecessary then when my sister didn't really like the dresses enough to pay that much, the women acted as if everyone wanted those dresses, and that they were Selling like crazy when the entire store is stocked do not recommend. They told us an outlandish story about how someone messaged them saying they wanted to dress and then it was sold. A few hours later the racks are full in the store they don't sell as much as they pretend they do.

Disappointing Customer Service Experience…read more I went to the store to buy tights and jazz shoes for my daughter. When I walked in, I told the sales associate I was there to purchase both. She showed me the available shoe options. I mentioned I was looking for flesh-toned shoes and wasn't sure the colors they had would work. I then picked out a pair of tights and, after that, went back to the shoes and asked to try some on my daughter. The associate then asked if I was "just trying on or purchasing." Stunned, I replied, "trying on to see if I want to purchase." She then said there would be a $15 try-on fee for the jazz shoes, which would go toward the purchase if I decided to buy. I asked for clarification: "So, if I try the shoes on and don't like them, I have to pay $15?" She said she might not be explaining it correctly and called over the manager or owner. Instead of clarifying the policy like the associate asked her to, the owner repeatedly said she was "confused" about whether I was buying or trying on, referring back to my earlier comment about wanting a flesh tone. I explained that I wanted to try them on my daughter to decide if the available color worked, but she continued to say she was confused, without ever attempting to explain the try-on policy or addressing my question. At that point, I said, "Never mind, we're in the wrong place," and left with my children. I went there to make a purchase, as i have many times over the years, but the tone and attitude made me feel unwelcome and completely uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing the shoes and tights online for less money, but I went to this store specifically hoping to support a small business. Unfortunately, this experience made that impossible and I won't be returning. Lastly, if a try-on fee is the store's policy, it should be communicated clearly and professionally, especially when a customer has already expressed intent to buy.
