We also bumped into a local woman outside who told us what her favorite items at the restaurant were. My favorite dish was definitely the meat topped with the pomegranate seeds and the oblong falafel-looking thing shown in the first picture. I wasn't a fan of the intestines. I also wasn't a fan of the Turkish pizza with lamb, though I felt the lamb all throughout my time in Istanbul was a bit too gamey for my taste. Overall, I think this is an excellent place to get a taste of what Turkish cuisine has to offer--we came here towards the end of our trip but I think coming here at the beginning would have been a better choice, so that we could know what kinds of dishes to seek out during the rest of our time at Turkey!

Damo stepped up and delivered, the service and food here were top notch. I had a little bit of everything, including the maast'o khiar, their soup jo, an unreal joojeh kabob and a perfectly spiced koobideh kabob, served together and called vaziri kabob. I hit peak happiness with a hot tea and shirini. The calm atmosphere amongst the bussle of Taksim Square is a welcome reprieve. I plan to come back to Istanbul again next year with the family and will make sure to pay these guys another visit!

The food we ordered ranged from alright to really tasty - noteworthy dishes are the Adana Kebab and the Cubed Meat Pita. Their menu is quite expansive - for instance, they have desserts like the famous San Sebastian Cheesecake, as well as a full bar of booze. Speaking of which, they have Limoncello, so I got a Limoncello Spritz (albeit it wasn't as strong). On its menu, Guney also has non-Turkish/Western Europe dishes like Belgian Mussels. Excellent ambience with indoor and covered outdoor seating, but just a heads up that we were sitting in the covered outdoor seating and people around me were ALL smoking (!) The vegetables and pickles that came with the kebabs were a great addition. Turkish sweets are delicious so I definitely enjoyed the desserts we had as well. They give you pickles which helps you cleanse your palate.
