I had their filtered coffee and a piece of one of their in house baked cakes ( almond cake?). Both items were very tasty! The staff was super friendly and was quick to make my coffee! I was told that they make most of their pastries and cakes in house and looks like all their offerings are delicious. They had the cutest cookies and petit fours next to the register and I was tempted to buy them all! Actually later that night I got to try some more of their cakes and pastries! We tried a piece of their blueberry cheesecake which was really tasty. We also had an assortment of chocolate treats which were equally as good! There was one treat that was like a salted caramel chocolate tart...sooo good! Highly recommend this place to catch up with a friend over great coffee and delicious sweet treats. Also, this place takes only cash!

So good... They were also very capable to alter the menu to fit a gluten-free diet without any issues. Full marks and a recommendation. Go for the menu. PS: they seem to have a few 2nd rate tables that probably don't feel as nice as others, might be a good idea for them to re-think...

Such a treat to find a gluten free bakery while in Hamburg! After missing breakfast (no gf options…read morewhere I was), I went to Isabella just after lunch and loaded up on goodies that were safe for me to eat: a roll for the train ride the next day, a cherry crumble because I couldn't resist, and a delicious little personal-size quiche and a coffee for right then. Because it is set up as a pop-up, they only have a microwave for warming things. I think I would have had the quiche cold if I realized that. Otherwise, everything was just perfect for this celiac traveler. Of note: the young woman at the counter spoke English (my German was not sufficient to make cure that this was safe for someone with celiac) and reassured me that it was truly gluten free, made in a dedicated kitchen. Oh- and if you need the WC, ask for the key at the counter.

The server was pleasant and willing to speak English with the members of our party who don't speak German. We all started with the custom cocktail. This is where you tell them what kind of drinks you like and don't like and they tailor it especially for you. Mine turned out nice. I said I don't like tequila, and my drink came with vodka. The food was also pretty good. I had a salad bowl with shrimp. We all had a second round of drinks. The bathrooms were decent and also themed. It was a fun night out at Botanic District.
