Mathew from Coastal Pure Air got back to us in minutes and, understanding the urgency of our situation, personally came to do a quote the next day even though it was a Saturday. He provided a detailed quote, gave us all the information we needed about the process, and assured us that he would schedule us as early as possible. We were impressed by his professionalism and obvious expertise in his field, and booked an appointment to have the work done. Early the following week he contacted us again: knowing our urgency to have the situation resolved he wanted to let us know that he had had a cancellation that week, and could put us in that slot instead if we preferred to have the work done earlier. Before the work was done, were provided a Service Engagement letter to sign, which clearly outlined the date the work would be done, the cost of the work, the responsibilities of Pure Air (i.e. maintaining adequate insurance, compliance with WCA, professional conduct) and options for redress if the services were not provided according to the agreement. This is the first time we have recieved anything like this from a contractor in this area, and it further impressed us with the professionalism of this business. On the day of the remediation, they arrived on time, made every effort to minimize any disruption in our activities - we work from home, so this was important - and the work was completed in good time. After the work was done we were provided with before and after photos of the affected areas, and the actual cost of the work was exactly what was provided in the quote. Given the lack of skilled tradesman it's hard to rate the actual physical work that was so poorly done and attribute that to the contractor but certainly the company's inventory process boxing up belongings for residents to store items to allow rebuilding was an unmitigated disaster. It went downhill from there. I'd look elsewhere unless you are desperate. Having said that, I think a lot can also depend on the actual on site project manager so perhaps it is less about the company and more about who is at the leadership helm for specific projects. As always, get three quotes for tender and if you go for the least expensive you might be paying for it in other ways.
