This is the masjid that I grew up with, so of course, I may be biased. Beautiful masjid with a wonderful and ample area for women to pray upstairs. There's also area near the back of the women's area in case you aren't praying. Furthermore, for women with young children, there is a small room for women to take their children there and pray so as to not disturb others in the larger prayer area. I attended Sunday School here, and I have to say that experience really shaped my relationship with the religion as I grew older. Furthermore, IFS has grown more social media aware recently, and has started sending listhost emails and posting on Facebook their many events. They've started catering to the community in other ways as well, with sports programs for younger kids to exercise classes for older women. There are also free lectures that are open to the public after evening and night prayers. Despite how wonderful this masjid is, there is certainly room for improvement in sha Allah, that can be easily attained. Firstly, the bathrooms are almost always a mess unfortunately. Either the floors are all watery, or there isn't enough soap, there is always something that makes me uncomfortable using the bathrooms here. Secondly, the social groups here can be somewhat clique-y, making it difficult (especially for older women) to feel like they are a part of the community. read more

The masjid is a very good community and you belong immediately. The store inside was great for the kids to get some snacks. My only and most important issue is the fact that when in prayed in the woman's musallah, the floor smelled like feet and farts, I tried be the most respectful but the aromas were too strong. Someone should clean the musallah sometime soon! read more

Very friendly peaceful religious Muslim mosque & community, Facility also houses a full time school up to & including high school level. People are respectful of others & Imams are highly educated on The Holy Quran. Facility is clean & welcoming. An elevator is available to reach second floor where women pray. Lighted parking lots provide security for those entering & leaving. Handicap parking available. read more

I have found it clean throughout and tolerant of children. I recommend this mosque for families.

I love this place I wished I knew this place before I had the first job in America . This is the right way to raise your children in America. An really true Islamic School . I mean so genuine. read more

This is my school, and I love it so much. The best kind and caring teachers. I love IFS!!!

The only reason I'm not giving this 1 star is because of some of my caring teachers, and the fact that we can pray in a mosque during school each day. Some staff members need improvement, our principal was only in school for 1 year, then took a "vacation" for around 6 months. read more

This is a nice little private school in Villa Park. They offer classes starting from kindergarten all the way up to 12th grade. They offer a good education for students, with a slight emphasis on Islamic studies. The cirriculam here is good and the teachers are all professional. Students are bound to get a good education from this school read more

There are completely false accusations on here about Islamic Foundation School. I am a huge fan of this school and both of my children attend this school. We have been here for almost 4 years now. The education is very good and the teachers, staff members and principal are exceptionally well qualified. My daughter's IOWA test results for the past three years place her in a 5th and 6th grade level on core competencies..and she's only in 3rd grade! My preschooler is very happy here and knows more than the average preschooler. You can look up test results and rankings online and you will see that IFS actually ranks pretty high. As with any school there is always room for improvement and this nonsense about secretaries making more than teachers is unfounded, unless you are comparing head of admin who has been working for more than a decade to a newly employed teacher with no experience. Salary is paid depending upon degree level, experience, and assessment. Teachers who want to be paid better here, have to work better. If you are looking for a private Islamic school to send your children, I highly recommend IFS. I love it here, and my children couldn't have been happier. When judging how great a school is, please come inside, take a look, talk to the principal and ask parents who actually have kids in the school. A great school! read more

As an Alumni who has attended the school from K-12th grade, I am forever thankful for everything I have learned, and the special memories of those years. People who choose to complain about the school, are complainers wherever they go. I have only seen benefit and good come out of this school, with constant improvement and development. IFS is a treasure to the community, that we are really blessed to have. read more

Beautiful Masjid Located in Villa Park. Plenty of room to pray even at Jummah time you will never have an issue. Love this place, mA!

Had our nikkah there, everyone is very professional and helpful, esp Javed. Thank you ISlamic Foundation for kindness and generosity to myself and current husband for a successful event. The mosque is clean and beautiful as well as a resource to the community. Thank you and Jazak Allah khir read more

IFS is beautiful masjid and so for that you cannot really dislike it! That being said it is still a work in progress, like all of our spiritual journeys. It is pretty standard fare in terms of sunni Islam. Nothing will ruffle any feathers- at least they try not to do that. There was some shady dealings with board members and higher ups in the administration but thankfully they have tried to address those issues. I think they are moving in the right direction. I have never had any issues with the people they have hired in terms of Islamic authorities. read more

Great Islamic school. Even awesome for non Muslims because of its protective environment.

I agree. The leadership is corrupt and not willing to help out muslims in the community with real problems. I called to discuss a situation I was in recently and the director of the mosque Hameed Doggar told me he could not help me, and to come pray and immediatly leave! Furthermore, he is the director of an american mosque and speaks very poor english! How do you communicate with people if you can't speak their language? I find it sickening that they jump through hoops to have various NON MUSLIM politicians come to the mosque BUT when a fellow muslim reaches out to them we get the door slammed in our face. Bewareof the prayer of the the oppressed islamic foundation! read more

Islamic foundation school is below average in education and completely lacks the high standard in Islamic values that I was hoping for. After many years of involvement and high hopes for a bright future for this school I have come to realize that the very core of IFS is corrupt. I Try to defer all my Muslim friends from paying money to this poorly run organization. There are other, better, options in the area. You won't get the quality of education or islamic values from this school. read more

The past school year was great! This will be my daughter's 4th year at IFS and I am very happy with the level of Academic as well as Islamic standards of this school. We have some of the highest AP scores in the nation and I really feel that this new administration is doing an excellent job improving every semester! I disagree with what the reviewer SK said below about IFS being below average. The scores speak for themselves, they are definitely NOT low. Come and visit the staff and school, you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend this school for all ages. read more
