I wanted to find someone I could communicate with (in English) but who was also skilled with short hairstyles. He responded same day and was very professional. BEST DECISION EVER!! I thought let's just start out with the haircut first and I'd it goes well then we'll see about color and highlights. Excellent at all categories and I love that he listens. I love the products he uses to color my hair. They color stays true and it doesn't have a harsh chemical smell and it doesn't burn your eyes. He has so much experience and he brings it to the table. Some hairdressers are just good but Barry is the triple threat. He is such a lovely/funny person, he is superb at cutting hair, and (my favorite thing which is very hard to find) he has the "eye". Meaning he can look at you and tell precisely which hairstyle will look fantastic on you and exactly how to get you there. I love his vision! He is frank and honest about how long it will take to get you there but after the first haircut I knew I would be a loyal client for the remainder of my stay. Highly recommend :)

I wanted my hair cut in a particular style. Showed him a photo of what I wanted. An inverted, graduated layered bob. At the end if the cut it was nothing like what I asked for. He said he refused to cut my hair in that style because it would not suit me nor my hair type. I have worn this style since 2007. It is still relevant, modern and easy to handle. And it does suit me. Since when is a clients wishes ignored. I wasnt asking for anything outrageous, it was a tried and tested style. Needless to say I wont be going back.

Instead she cut my hair in a way that I fear she was a dog stylist in her previous career. The hairstyle was sloppy though she said that she wiuld be extra diligent for " perfection ". The price is twice as high but just as bad as a walk-in Gidor. The stylist only spoke French, no German, no English. I speak French, but she didn't listen to the briefing, and did not really know what she was doing. She has zero design esthetics and now I look like a sad 1980s poodle. Her acknowledgement: you can still do a ponytail to hide it shows that she knew that the hair looked stupid. The design esthetic is cheap and not elegant. Not the style to wear in Basel's better neighbourhoods unless you're cleaning personnel who seem to like fancy hairstyles. Here some feedback I got on my new fugly hairstyle: - You look like a cleaning lady - this was fashionable in the 1980s - what did they do to your hair? - Stufenschnitt, wirklich? - you look cheap / ridiculous Finally she was an anti-masker who violated the madk mandate constantly which totally upset me as I have a risk (but got both shots, so I didn't call her out). So now it's time for a wig. Pure Aveda is overpriced ugliness. What is trendy in Paris, is fugly in Basels upper class.
