Obviously I can't vouch too much for the day to day running now (though it still appears to be run by some of the same people), but from looking at the pictures on the website, it's obvious that the facilities haven't changed a great deal. Outside there's two floodlit concrete courts, one for football and one for other sports (these were built in my day with grant money), plus a grass footie pitch. Inside they cater for the lazier sports, such as table tennis, pool and darts, plus there's a tuck shop and we even had a computer room where you could sit down and play Super Mario while eating bags of Tangy Toms (sorry, I seem to have turned into Peter Kaye!). This place provided some of the defining moments of my childhood due to the excellent facilities and efforts of the volunteer staff. If it's even half as well run now as it was then, it's a great place to send your kids where they can do some exercise and keep out of trouble.

Thanks to the efforts of many people, a great day was had by all participants of the fishing match; even if the fish weren't very plentiful at Bullock Farm, Kingston Seymour. However, the cafe at Bullock Farm did a nice line in bocon baps. Mine was brought to my peg, by our runner for the match, Chloe Faiers. May the Salami tradition continue for many years to come; it was good to see youngsters participating in the match. Many thanks to Paul and Glenn for walking the lake banks, in case someone got pulled in by a huge fish (it didn't happen), to issue yellow and red cards as appropriate, and conducting the weigh in, at match end. Thanks also to the Daces for all their work in making a great day.

When the club relocated to Nailsea, the upgrade was anything but subtle. The new club is one of the best in the region, with gym facilities, male and female changing rooms and a double bar upstairs with a huge conference room. The club is great, the people are fantastic, and the food is er the food is for rugby players who just went through 80 minutes of enough hell not to care. The club always holds an annual beer & cider festival which is absolutely brilliant, and has various events throughout the year with a particularly good fireworks display at around guy fawkes time. It has a huge car park and a great place to play or watch a bit of rugby, and if you want to join a boxing or running club, then this a great place to start. The cafe is a good size, spacious, good for groups and has a great little play area with toys to keep little ones entertained. The adult menu is pretty simple, breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, salads and a few other dishes, I had Mac and cheese. The options for kids were great, there is a packed lunch station where for £4.50 you can select 5 items that go in a cardboard box. Or a hot food menu for £5.50 that comes with a drink and yogurt or fruit. My son went for the Mac and cheese too. The food was delicious but both dishes came out lava hot and when you've got a starving child the last thing you want is to have to sit and wait while the food cools down. I also thought the hot kids meals were a little over priced but then it was kind of expected considering this was @bristol. Overall great experience though and I'd recommend this to anyone with kids looking for a good lunch spot in the centre.

An engaging day out, and a lot more refreshing than a stuffy art museum. Aiming for that (at least for most teachers) impossible goal of making learning fun, it certainly is a fun day out but I'm not sure if too much is learnt there. The exhibits are all interactive, you can pedal to generate power for a T.V. and lift a four foot diameter globe with a very long lever (this is some sort of reference to the ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes, for those that care). This means almost any kid will enjoy themselves here, and you'll see plenty of ten year olds hurtling between each thing, eager to try out everything. The staff are young and keen, and will earnestly explain the science that each exhibit is meant to teach you about. With lots of glass and primary colours it generally feels fresh, something most museums are nothing like. Go there if you've got curious kids to distract, or if you're just a bit of one yourself.
