Unfortunately, the experience was highly discouraging due to the behavior of Amanda working the front desk. When asking for our documents and proof of an extension, she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of treating us like citizens coming in for a simple administrative task, she spoke to us as if we were criminals. Once we were spoken to a second time in a demeaning tone, I knew I wouldn't be setting a good example for my young adult son if we stayed. So I placed the paperwork, I had on the counter, back into my folder, and kindly asked her name before heading out the door. It is incredibly disappointing to experience this lack of basic respect and customer service from personnel at a local police station. I hope the administration addresses her front-desk professionalism, because community members should feel comfortable walking into this station. That same day after we left... we ended up going to another station where we were treated civilly, so my son's payment went to them.

He came out immediately and he was both empathetic and professional. He left his card and told us he would call with updates, which he did every step of the way. The officer also came back for a piece of my son's clothing so the search crew could get a K9 to track our son. They weren't wasting ANY time or leaving any stone unturned. Our son was found and the entire crew was there, and they were kind and calming to my son and let him pet Cooper the doggo and just overall made my son and us feel very calm and like everything was going to be fine. I can't express how grateful I am to Glendora PD. I really can't. We were shaken as heck. We had no idea what to do but they guided us every step of the way and made sure our son was safe and sound. Really...there are no words. Just...thank you so very much.

When I brought this concern for conduct to the watch commander's attention, he simply explained the policy and procedure instead of explaining how the policy's existence and enforcement actually benefit the public; As if it is appropriate to do something because "thats always how its been done". My own fault for expecting police officers to use any critical thinking skills. The good ol' boys club of Glendora makes sure they follow the rules, and are more than happy to force you to, as well. Be sure not to question any authority and you'll be very protected and served in Glendora, CA.

My years of listening to the scanner has shown that they don't have anything to hide. Although, one Sargent is really rude to the other officers. I only know him as "Mairy" lol . He is very short to the dispatcher too. At 6:15 when the officers do roll call, he will interrupt and say yeah everyone is here. He's probably the rudest person in the department. He sounds like a thug. I feel for the other officers when he is on duty. There is also a new officer who is working very hard. He is busy and it's obviously is dedicated. Man he is nervous though. I bet the thug is why he makes mistakes. One officer used 506.275 to talk to another officer on 6/10/2020 and the dispatcher quickly shushed him. That's the last radio traffic I herd. Sad. There seem to be pockets of homeless scattered throughout the city and for some reason they like hanging around in front of the bus stop near my work. So far, the police have been cool about getting rid of them (at least temporarily) and dealing with them if and when they get crazy. More frequent patrols in the area to provide a stronger police presence would be great though.
