After bringing my personal (straight forward) taxes I waited nearly two months and after hearing nothing followed up with Irwin Tax. They had assigned my file yet apparently the accountant/bookkeeper had done absolutely nothing prior to my following up. They needed to be reminded to do the service I had hired them to do; who knows how long my file would have been ignored without my reminding them to do the work. Following the completion and submission of my taxes I (knowing literally nothing about tax preparation) found an error made by Irwin Tax, an error that shorted me hundreds of dollars. After meeting with the accountant/bookkeeper who prepared my taxes, and pointing out their error, I was assured that the corrected paperwork would be sent to the CRA and I could expect a refund. It has now been nearly one year since I found their error and I still have no refund. I am now attempting to again follow up to ensure that Irwin Tax did the job I hired them for and fix the error they created. It seems Irwin Tax needs babysitting to do the job I paid (clearly OVERPAID) them to do and fix their own mistakes. Irwin Tax has wasted my time, my money (their fee is exorbitant considering the pathetic service I've received), and cost me money with their sloppy error.
