Pros - His final price stayed within his initial estimate. - Excellent communication skills thru both phone calls and txt messages - Arrived on time, as promised - Took most of what we had agreed on - Fair pricing - Genuinely nice, hard-working and funny man Cons - He arrived with a mostly full truck so he was only able to take about 75% of what he was supposed to. Unfortunately this led to me having to do a separate dump run myself. Overall I'd def use Charles again, but next time I'll make sure his truck is mostly empty instead of mostly full. Ok, so by now, one can see from my reviews, I like doing business on a local level. I like dealing with a small business, and enjoy the relationship you get when conversing with the owner that is also the worker bee. As I get ready for my move north, am also doing some major downsizing. However, none of this stuff would have passed the muster for even migration to anywhere but the recycle and dump. Started out with just a small pile, i swear, and then overnight, like rabbits, it multiplied. I had a major pile of rubbish, metal, old boat and utility trailer, glass, old futon mattress, yard swing,,,, you get the picture, and it was not looking good. I do want to get out of the bay area in this lifetime, and it would have taken my multiple trips to the dump, miles, gas, hours, none of which I wished for. Looked here, picked out 5 and started calling. This was my first, and last, made a connection with Charles right away, he said he could be out the next morning based on the photos I sent and give me a more accurate bid. The price was right and away they went at it. We ordered a very heavy printer 96 lbs that Charles hauled upstairs and placed it in our study, unfortunately the printer was defective so I arranged a replacement. I called Charles he was here several hours later took the old printer down and helped me pack it & took the replacement back up to the study. Unfortunately although a high end printer it had an yet the same ADF (automatic document feeder) defective as the previous Multifunction printer. So we called Charles once again to lug the 96 lbs back downstairs packed it up and moved it to the front porch for UPS to pick up and return. Excellent service will use again. OK, so I submitted a quote to several trash removal businesses and Charles (N Charge) was the first to respond, within minutes. I told him over the phone what I wanted to have hauled off and he gave me an approximate estimate that seemed fair. He was able to come over within a couple of hours. During that time, I found some extra things to get rid of. When Charles arrived, we negotiated a fair price for the removal for the original and extra things. Charles and his employee worked quickly and thoroughly to remove everything plus a little more. More importantly to me, Charles is a good man. He is personable and conscientious. I paid him in cash, said good-bye, and went back into the house. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang, and there was Charles with a $20 bill in his hand. He told me that I had accidentally paid him to much and was returning my overpayment! I probably never would have noticed. So I highly recommend Charles for any of your hauling needs. I called Charles at 2PM today regarding a job I just couldn't get anyone else to talk to me about; specifically I needed help hauling away: * an old cal king mattress and box spring * an old Dinosaur of a TV (300 pounds+) * some moldy old office furnitur On top of this, I live in the hills and this job required 10 steps down and 30 steps up to the curb for the firm taking this job on. Charles answered my call, gave me a quote, and was on-site with a helper within 90 minutes. Contrast that to the 6 other people I'd called from Craigslist today, who couldn't ask clear questions, would dismiss my job as too difficult, or just flaked on calling back. Charles and I had previously negotiated a fee and I threw a few more items into the truck for a $10 additional surcharge which I felt was fair. Called them as I needed a 250lb. printer removed from an upstairs office and I needed about 30 plastic and wood pallets removed. He answered immediately, said he would be over soon. He arrived about 2 hours later (texting me ahead of time to say he was on his way) and gave me an estimate, which I ended up accepting. They were very professional, pleasant, and managed to get the printer out without damaging the house in any way, and even swept up the debris in the area where the pallets were stored.
