The building is well maintened as well as the equipement (computers etc). The most important part is the quality of the class, which is so far so good, I feel I learn something for new in the end of every class about adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

It is located in…read morethe city centre and is very accessible.The courses are three months in lenght and you are entitled to a weekly wage, which works out at about 200 euro a week. The college itself, is very impressive as it has a fully functioning kitchen. Staff are very professional and helpful. Every week they hold open interviews for their courses. They advise to come early and ring ahead to confirm the interview day.

The fact that I couldn't draw a bucket of water didn't stop me wandering in to see what it is all about and to see if maybe they did a toddlers session or something to distract junior. Turns out they don't cater for toddlers (and I really can't blame them) but they do a whole range of courses including short ones for children over the summer. The ethos seems to be using art as a medium for helping children and adults cope with life as a whole - teaching patience and planning while guiding you through. I don't know how usual it is to have this sort of ethos but I like the idea, might be something to look at for the cold winter months!

Although located on the grim skid-row of Marlborough Street, St Mary's Pro-Cathedral is an…read moreabsoulute gem of a building. Along with St Andrew's Church on Westland Row, the Pro-Cathedral is one of the finest modern church buildings in the city centre. The Pro-Cathedral is a fine example of a church built in the Classical Greek style, with large Doric cloumns on the inside as well as outside. The Pro-Cathedral was built early in the 19th century, and is modeled on the church of St Philippe-le-Roule in Paris. St Mary's Pro-Cathedral would not be the most frequented tourist attraction in Dublin, located off the beaten track as it is, but it only a minutes walk from O'Connell St, and it should definitely be part of your itinerary if you are visiting Dublin and old churches are your thing. I prefer the Classical style of St Mary's to the medieval Gothic of Christchurch or St Patrick's Cathedrals personally, and best of all, the Pro-Cathedral has no admission charge, whereas the other two have.

However, such a flagrant symbol of Taigism was judged unwise, what with the Penal Laws and all their attendant imaginative punishments, so it was built on Marlborough Street instead. From the outside, its most distinguishing feature is its sea-green dome, whereas inside it is a mix of Greek and Roman architectural styles, (more white marble statues than you can shake a crosier at), beautiful stained glass and an amazing panelled ceiling - the inside of the dome. Strangely, the name doesn't mean that it has professional cathedral status - in fact, it isn't officially recognised as a cathedral at all.
