There's no Irish drinks except for €7 guinness which is poured wrong and they use your old dirty glass to fill another pint. I mentioned this and tried to explain how to pour correctly only to be mocked by the 3 staff members who were engrossed by their mobile phones. No mention of food or warm welcome. Toilets out of order, smoking area likewise. Just a bad experience. Unusual for an Irishman to leave a pub after a few pints but I had to. Never again.

Saying that, It is nice, comfortable and there are some decent beers on offer. They tend to keep it very dark though for some reason. I also heard that it gets pretty crazy later in the night and there have been the occasional fights. Nice during the day and early evening hours but I wouldn't go there when all the drunks are out!

It's usually less crowded than its Irish pub neighbor a couple doors down, which is how my friends and I found it originally (we were looking for a low-key drink on a random weeknight). It's centrally located to many other bars and clubs in Lille, so it's great for a stop on a busy many-stop bar crawl, or just for a little change of pace before (or after) a stop at the club.

There are snack foods available, or you can dine properly. We didn't try the restaurant, but the menu includes steaks, fish and chips, rack of lamb etc from EUR16-21. We made this a regular stop for late morning coffee, and for Belgian beers (but, of course, Guinness and whiskeys are available) with excellent frites (chips) and mayonnaise as a snack.
