The staff thinks that because there was help coming in then their job to help was done. That's not what is understood between the office staff and my family. The help that was coming in was mainly for companionship. The aide helped put clothes on my family member after their shower. It's only fair that the StoneCreek staff picked up the slack for what they were getting paid extra to do.

My mom has been at the Gardens for a year. I toured about seven facilities and the Gardens was the…read moreone that I felt was the best fit for mom. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. If I call with a complaint or concern, they get back to me immediately. We had trouble getting mom's medications figured out, but the nursing staff was very helpful and persistent in figuring it out. Granted, not every CNA loves what they do, and it shows, but the staff at the Gardens is quick to send them on their way. Although my mom has been there for a year, she has declined so much that she can't find her room, or the dining room. The CNA's and Activities Directors are very kind and patient with her and they make sure she shows up in the dining room and for the wonderful activities. Another thing I love is that they are constantly putting on events that include the entire family. They are a very fun group of staff members. Please note that every Assisted Living/Memory Care facility is run by humans, which means no place is perfect. However, it is evident that the managing staff is working hard to make improvements on a daily basis. My mom is the only family member I have left, so I want her to be in the best place possible.

I have a friend in Memory Care that I visit weekly. Along the way to Her area I am greeted with happy smiles by Management, Staff and Residence. I often times go at meal time so that I am able to chat with others in her area. Ahhhh, the Stories of past adventures that they tell. I like it best when Staff cranks up the oldies music. It gets the Bodies Moving. There is a party coming up in a few weeks that I plan to attend. I missed the A Spa Day is in the works. Nails and Makeup just because it is fun to be pampered. I highly recommend.

My family toured extensively looking for a memory care facility for my grandma and ended up choosing Veraden because the residents seemed the most happy (even though it was not the closest or the most budget friendly). What a blessing this place has been! My grandma is thriving here. Almost daily we see photos of her taking part in enriching activities. She has made friends despite her advanced dementia. We visit her daily and every time she looks lovely and content, dressed with her hair and nails done. Even though she doesn't know where she lives she always tells me how "blessed" she is to be there. It is evident that Phil, LJ, and the team of caregivers really love their job and go above and beyond for the seniors. Our family is so thankful for this place and the safe and happy environment that it has provided for my amazing grandma!

We have found my father in law…read moresitting in his own urine for hours on end, he's been left on the floor for over two hours after pushing his medical help button, a worker walked in and said he did not want to help get him up, they left blood all over the floor after he fell and hurt himself. They sit in the hallway and talk to each other and do not take care of the patients. My father in law is one of the kindest, easiest people to get along with. He doesn't ask for anything. He hates to be a burden. He is not a grumpy, overly needy person. This is an ASSISTED living facility but the only thing they will do is bring him a meal. They do not help him to the bathroom, they do not help with showers, they do not help with bathroom issues, they help with NOTHING. This place is hell.
