Go to Istanbul; it is THE hidden gem of the Altstadt located beyond the Hauptstraße. And it's fast and cheap, too. God I love Istanbul

The food was always tasty and I usually ordered either the chicken doner or doner box. Despite this Yufka's was not my doner of choice in Heidelberg, and I always found the meat a little dry. The doner also usually needed more sauce. I would still eat at Yufka's again because of the convenience and location, and the food is ok. It might be worth it to look for a better kebab in Heidelberg though.

Gathering from the looks from outside, I was expecting to dine at a German "gasthof" kind of…read morerestaurant. However, it turned out to be Greek as we sat down. Well, it was no problem for me either way. To my certain surprise, there was no checking on our COVID vaccination certificate or no requirement to provide our contact information. It probably was due to Schwäbisch Hall being in a different state from where we live in Bavaria. I still felt like some German food, so I ordered schweinschnitzel with fries and salad. My wife opted for their house special salad with chicken. My side salad was well-dressed with onion-heavy dressing. It tasted fine. Schnitzel could've used some more flavoring like salt & pepper, but accompanying sauce/gravy added some more flavoring. Meat was cooked well and tasted just fine. Fries were not salted or had a minimum amount of salt which I couldn't detect. I took care of that with ketchup. My wife enjoyed her salad though she gave me her peppers, olives and some feta to add to mine. She said her chicken was OK. I tasted one piece, and it was grilled alright, but it could've used more flavoring. The service was rendered with a smile by a nice man. To summarize, a better than average restaurant--nothing really special, but the price and food quality were certainly just fine. As is often the case with these type of establishment it's cash only. It'll be helpful if you spoke some German.

Perhaps the waiter was upset because he didn't fit into his size Small sweater that he was trying to fit his 280lb frame into, however, he had no excuse for how he racially profiled my friends and myself. The only solace from our time was that the aforementioned douchebag waiter was consistently rude to all members of our party regardless of gender or creed. I refuse to ever come back to this restaurant and trust me you are not missing out on anything special. The pommes frites are best described as the same texture as Donald trumps toupee. There are so many better places available in schwabisch hall to go to! MUST SKIP!!!
