This is a small, family-run place, so don't expect the service speed of a fast-food restaurant. Everything is prepared fresh, and while it may take a little time, the wait is absolutely worth it. So far I've tried the spicy duck, spicy beef, sushi, and several of their rolls, and every single dish has been fantastic. The flavors are bold, the ingredients taste fresh, and the portions are generous. You can tell the people running the restaurant really care about the food they're serving. I'm only living in Murnau for the next three months, but I can already tell this place is going to be a regular stop for me. I fully expect to be eating here at least twice a week for the entire time I'm here. If you're in Murnau and looking for great food in a relaxed, welcoming environment, Lion King Restaurant is absolutely worth visiting. What I don't think is appropriate was allowing a dog to sit at a table in a restaurant. I observed a guest with her dog in her lap and tables are super close. After she was done we were seated at that table and I had to request the table be cleaned. The host which was also the cashier and server was nice but seemed a bit overwhelmed (understandably). Food was served quickly. I ordered pho and it wasn't hot it was warm to touch and broth didn't "cook" or "steam" added veggies. Portion size was decent. Flavor was okay. For the cost it definitely had room for more vegetables to be added. Water isn't free so make sure you bring or know before hand. Prices are reasonable. My dad, sister, and cousin all spring for the typical beef pho while my mom got the shrp version. I do, so they recommended the Bangkok thai curry special. It blew me away! Super spicy, but the sweet rice and nice crispy pork perfectly balanced it for me. The best thai food ive ever enjoyed. My fried ghamba and fried pineapple were also very delicious. Also the prices were almost unbelievable. We (3 people) had a 3 course meal concisting mostly of the most expensive options on the menu, and, with drinks, only had to pay 47 euros. Incredible! Highly recommended!
