We traveled through Lakeview moving to Grants Pass OR from Arkansas. We stopped at 10pm in Lakeview, on our 3rd day travel, mid September ~ called 4 hotels and all of them were booked. This hotel had availability to park a 26 ft uhaul pulling a trailer and our 1 ton truck pulling two jet skis. We thanked the lady and told her we would be there in 10 minutes. There was only 5 cars in both parking areas. Checked in, went to room ~ nasty and it stunk! It was the nastiest place I had stayed in a long time. We threw down towels on the sheets and went to sleep. We were leaving at 6am so this had to work. I went to check out ~ no one to be found. There was a note on wall to leave the key in room. What? That was weird. We went across the street to the best restaurant ever! That place saved the day from the hotel nasty! I received my next credit card bill and this place charged us an extra $100 the next day! WTH! I called the hotel and the lady tells me she charged an extra $100 because she "claimed" we smoked Marijuana in the room and it took 4 days to get rid of smell. Again, WTH! Didn't happen! She charged the extra $100 early morning the next day! I call card company they tell me to request the original receipt I signed for the night we stayed. I did, she claims she didn't have to do that and more or less the card will eat it. I told her she didn't have permission to charge my card the extra fee. I needed my signed receipt from the night before to show what I agreed upon. Now she had no email or computer to do so. WtF, now! After 3 calls she finally sends transaction receipt where she charged my card the next day. Scribbled on it ~ smoked Marijuana in room. Wow ~ lol! WE DID NOT SMOKE MARIJUANA IN ANY HOTEL ON OUR TWO, CROSS COUNTRY, TRIPS TO MOVE. I think this lady does this, on a regular basis, to one time travelers. My 3 phone conversations with her is what made me feel she has pulled this before. The place is a dump! I wouldn't have left a bad review because we did have a room for the night at a cheap rate. We wouldn't be staying again. BUT! ONCE she charged my card on a fraudulent charge I thought NO! Everyone should know how nasty and thieving this hotel is! My card said she has till Jan 7th, 2026 to reply and she has not replied yet! Hmmmm ~ on our last trip moving, Nov. 2nd, we did stop at the Town Hall Cafe in Lakeview for the best breakfast. We had not received our card statement showing the fraudulent charge yet OR I would have probably gone over to hotel, and recorded our interaction concerning her thieving. Do not stay here. If you are stuck like us, be sure you have her come and ok your room before you leave, AND RECORD IT! I HAVE TRAVELED MY WHOLE LIFE AND NEVER EXPERIENCEDTHIS KIND OF B.S.! Found this place and decided to stay here because of the one Yelp review posted, and it was a good decision. The room was clean and comfortable, no frills, about 58.00. I had the pleasure of meeting Pam, who was friendly and very helpful. Stayed here again three weeks later. Although the bathroom could use a towel rack and the shower head is kinda funky, it is still a good value. After driving across Utah I pulled into Insterstate Highway 8 at 9 pm with a horse trailer and parked on the street in front of my room. I was outside tending to my animals and noticed a man dressed in dark clothes with a black hoodie in the laundrymat across the street watching me. It did not look like he was doing any laundry. I was getting my dog's food and bowl and he came out and asked if I needed any help. No, I'm fine I said and he just went off, yelling and screaming threats and obscenities. I unloaded my German Shepherd and he retreated down the dark street still yelling threats and filthy words. I went to the office and told the manager what happened and asked her to call the police. She went and looked out the door and said he's gone now, do you have a phone? I said yes but not with me since you are the hotel lady you should call the police. I went back to my room shaking and upset. I called the office no one answered. So I went back there and asked what did the police say? She said she did not call the police. So I called them. Dear Motel 8---- if a lady who was harrased and threatened by a strange man outside her room asks you to call the police--CALL THE POLICE! read more

I would give this motel 0 stars if there was an option. Their door does not completely close unless you push it shut and the lock is backwards. We had an intruder wake us up in the middle of the night because the door can be easily pushed open. Thank goodness for the additional lock but I couldn't sleep after this. We also got woken up in the morning by housekeeping. Our fault, apparently, since we didn't put the do not disturb sign outside... there wasn't one to put out there. If you call the front desk no one ever answers. We tried upon arrival to find out wifi code, at night after the intruder and in the morning. No response. Asked for some sort of refund and were told their profit margins aren't high enough ($100 a night) and then after much thought and consideration offered a $5 off coupon for our next visit. Not only was the lady that checked us in not very friendly, when we got into our room there were beer bottles, bag of cereal and 1/2 empty water jug on the table. I call down to the office and tell the lady and she said "well my head house keeper inspected the room so it should be fine. I told her she can come up and look at it, her reply was "I can refund your full amount and you can go somewhere else". Then my daughter walked into the bathroom to find a dirty towel and the toilet looked as if it had urine in it, when I repeated that she just said "no that's the Lakeview water it's not urine"! I've never written a review in my life but I'm so disgusted in this place I have to let people know. First off I reserved this double bed room a week in advance for 2 nights. They had no record of that. As soon as i got there the smell in the office was overwhelming. Dirty, sticky counters. Waking up the stairs there were garbage cans full of trash and beer bottles. When I got into the room my daughters complained of the smell. It smelled like tweakers had been smoking meth and weed for a week straight. Floors filthy. Had to take t.v remote to front desk to have batteries replaced. I let my 3 year old drink the water and she got so sick. I ran her a bath and the water was so grossly yellow I then knew why she was sick. They advertise Leni premium cable which is a lie. Free WiFi... A lie. Continental breakfast... A lie. The pictures They have on the website are not pictures of the actual rooms. I came back the 2nd day and my key wouldn't work. I again had to go down stairs and the lady said only paid for one night. She literally changed what I had wrote in my sign in paperto say what she wanted it to say. I am a pretty humble person and I would NEVER stay at this shit hole again. read more

Pam is the woman who runs this place, and she is fantastic. We got a bit lost trying to go camping on a roadtrip one mosquito filled summer night, and ended up needing real beds. We got one of the last rooms at a way better rate than the generic Best Western down the road, and our trip was totally improved by meeting the proprietor. The next day we pursued a road atlas that she recommend and went hounding for sun stones out past Plush. We found a few great ones and had a good time doing it. So random! The room was clean, had a mini-fridge and HBO, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of ice to be had. We did end up in a smoking room, which inspired me to revisit that which I so recently quit, but hey, what are ya gonna do. A very home-style place to stay. I would do it again. read more

They were doing what I have to assume renovations on the hotel at the time of our stay. There were loud banging, and talking so the walls were definitely thin.. Pet friendly, cheap enough. The employee knocked on our door at 7am to announce coffee was available in the lobby. My husband was still in the room gathering our things and the same employee unlocked the door and came in the room to announce the same thing... Coffee was ready. I'm only relived that he or I were not changing or something at that point. Be careful. If you can choose a better place, do it. read more

Stayed one night here. The town is nice and include several places to eat and it has a Safeway. At check out the women was friendly, called down for more towels and pillows and they were quickly given. The room is clean, smelled pleasant when we walked in, not super spacious though. Only two drawers to store clothes etc. The bathroom is nice and big though, out dated decor but that's really splitting hairs if you ask me. Only one small trash can so that was kinda inconvenient but over all for the price we paid (85$) it was a nice stay and we will probably stay here in the future. Also easy to get to as it's clearly marked and one of the first one we hit coming from the direction we did, town seems easy to navigate as well. read more

Had requested a street level room when making our reservation. When we checked in were told we had a 2nd floor room. Did reduce rate slightly. The room smelled old and musty! We are in Lakeview every couple of months and have stayed in a motel that didn't allow dogs. I'm so glad we decided to bring our dogs this trip because it prompted us to find a dog friendly motel, and what a find! All if the staff were nice and helpful from beginning to end! The room was nice and clean, and we payed $55 for my husband, me, and two dogs! We will most certainly be there again, both with and without the dogs. read more

Passing through town, we needed a clean, quiet place to stay and we got it! The room is spacious and quiet and includes a mini-fridge, microwave and wireless internet. The bathroom is a little dated, but for $54/night and pets allowed, who cares! As mentioned before, Pam is a clear asset to the property. I'm still suffering the effects of my stay last December. I was severely bitten all over my body by bedbugs. I was put in a room that "had not been renovated." It was room 107. The bites were so bad, I had to get medical attention. It was a terrible ordeal that ruined my holiday, cost me a lot of time and money washing all my clothes, buying new clothes and medicines, doctors visits and extra hotel nights because I couldn't drive home given the severe itching. I have only scars to show for the ordeal as the hotel owner has never responded to my communications. When I alerted the motel office staff the morning after I got bitten, her very strange response was to deny the motel had bedbugs and mock me. No concern whatsoever has been shown to me for what I experienced because I stayed in this motel and suffered the consequences. I KNOW I got bitten at this motel because I felt the bedbugs biting me during the night so much so that I couldn't sleep. Bedbugs are very real so inspect carefully before using beds and take 91 percent alcohol with you and spray vigorously beds, mattresses, luggage etc. Before use. If I could, I would give a negative number of stars. I consider it inhumane to not show any concern whatsoever for another human beings suffering. And, I don't respect people who don't take responsibility for problems they cause others. read more

Ok folks.. I really really liked the lady at the front desk! I think her name was Jan but honestly for $85! I walked into a room that had not been vacuumed, dusted and had ring marks from someone's drinks all over the dresser. There was a dirty rag in the bathroom that said use for real dirt or something like that. I used it to clean up all the drink stains around the room which got me wondering what else was lurking about when I saw the deeply stained box spring bed. Throw up? Coffee? I pull down the old bed spread to find the oldest dis-colored sheets! Clean? Now that I've seen the other things.... I have to wonder! The mold spot in the tub was the final freak out for me. It was too late to look else where so we were stuck. When we spoke to Jan she acknowledged that she had lousy cleaners! Funny thing is she said the bathrooms were recently remodeled! Wow... Really! It's like 1950 in there. Anyway my take on it. I wouldn't stay there again. It was filthy and my trip from Dallas to Oregon and back again.... It was the worst. The snack shack across the street is good though and they have bottled water because you won't want to drink from the sink there. What I forgot to say is I took one of the cups out to use it and it had some kind of BLACK stuff all around the rim! Took out the second one SAME thing! Maybe we just got a bad room.. read more

The service is atrocious and piss poor. I was coming into town for my grandmothers funeral and all I asked for was to check in before the funeral to change clothes after driving for several hours. The woman who answered the phone told me very rudely that the owner doesn't care about personal problems and the rules cant change. I asked if there was any way I could get an exception or to talk to the owner? The woman replied that she was the manager that the owner was out of town and would agree with her they didn't care about anyone's bitching. I told her i felt that was pretty poor customer service and she said if I didn't like it I could go stay somewhere else. When I asked about cancelling my reservation she said rudely that I'd still be paying for it and that she would happily double charge me, on accident of course.
