We brought our two boys here for their first skydiving experience. This was the first indoor…read moreskydiving place where I've seen four as the minimum age. We were going to spend the weekend in Cologne and Dusseldorf, and Bottrop was only a few more minutes north. I've been skydiving a few times, but have never step foot in a wind tunnel. The online booking procedure was a cinch and easy to book the times I wanted and navigate through the booking process. The facility itself is impressive and can be overwhelming, yet the staff and instructors are welcoming and are used to dealing with first timers. I originally booked the tickets for my two boys (5 and 4), yet my 4 year old backed out at the last minute. I was more than happy to take his place, so it turned into a father/oldest son experience. Our instructor (the name escapes me) was excellent and offered to give the lesson a second time in English for me and my son. The safety lesson video is in German (since we are in Germany), and I was fine with watching the lesson and translating for my son. However, our instructor took the time to give us a second go around, to make sure my son didn't have any questions and was comfortable; definitely above and beyond and well appreciated The flight suits for the children were pretty cool, as they have a choice of being Superman or Spiderman. Clearly, this shows they are comfortable with young children and are happy to have them there. The equipment (suits, goggles, helmets) was well maintained and clean, which made the experience that more pleasant. The instruction was great, and made me wish I bought another 10 minutes of tunnel time. I was most impressed with our instructor and the way he taught my son and another little boy. The best part are the wind tunnel certificates, which you can take back and get more experience, do more things in the wind tunnel, and perhaps move up to going in the tunnel by yourself. Overall great experience, great instructors, and a great facility. A+!

Fun experience for the kids, the discovery center has something for all the ages. They start with…read morean introduction to how Lego is made, then you have an adventure game ride, mini land and the highlight is definitely the play area. There is an entire section of race car ramps and the kids had a blast building and racing the cars. There's also a nice indoor playground, laser tag (will come back when the kids are older !) and a 4D LEGO film. Time limit is 3 hours, and I can totally see without that limit, people will never leave! Does feel pricey at 22 euros a person, but when it's a similar price for a zoo and kids enjoy it more, it's def good for a visit.

After a short film, and a brief explanation of how Legos are made (this is isn't rocket science folks, plastic pebbles are thermoformed to brick molds...) we found ourselves in a large room, full of Legos. That's it! in one corner there were a bunch of legos from the Friends line, in another corner the City line with make-your-own-cars, and yet another corner had the Ninjago line. My kids (4 and 6) were bored after one hour. We didn't dare touch the cafeteria food - defrozen hot-dogs and soda. A big miss!!

***Sauna review only*** the good:…read more the outdoor sauna cabins what one would expect. there is a cool old-timey cash register in the restaurant area that they actually use the bad: to get restaurant service, you ring a really cool cow bell. unfortunately the restaurant is adjacent to a quiet rest area. not very relaxing at all. when you check in, you get a paper ticket that you must use several times to enter and exit the sauna and pool areas. i don't know who thought using a tiny piece of paper in a pool and sauna facility was a good idea. lockers require a 1 euro deposit the only water available in the restaurant is sparkling and there are no water fountains. the food is really cheap...but you get what you pay for. the ugly: leaky faucets indoors and out peeling paint and rusty doors. in general the place needs a lot of maintenance. both the separate women's sauna plunge pool and the general sauna area plunge pool were closed because they needed to be cleaned, so the red and white tape barrier was up all day. not cool.
