My dear friend's daughter is in her senior year. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to our campus visits. It is a beautiful campus to visit and fun activities nearby like the Teddy Bear Factory and Maple Syrup Factory. If you stay near campus at a AirB&B it may be a home with historic charm. Plan your visits because graduation comes around quickly and you want to document your fond memories! The downside is the placement office. Don't expect much assistance finding employment in your chosen field when you graduate! Start planning in advance!

Just the trip TO the school was a beautiful drive, but arriving in Burlington and walking around town was really great. We did do an official tour and the campus itself is beautiful. Our tour guide did an excellent job with our fairly large group and was able to answer all our questions. Dorms were...well they were dorm rooms, but some of the residence halls are actually quite nice. Unfortunately, I don't think this was the right 'fit' for my son so it's unlikely that he will end up here as a student, but it had more to do with the makeup of the academic program he was interested in rather than him not liking the campus. Seriously, this is really a beautiful campus with access to great outdoor activities in all seasons. Reduced price ski trips for students, great activities ON campus, and so much to do in town. Burlington is a great town with LOTS of great places to eat and drink...lots of local brews to enjoy if you are into craft beers as well.

It's fun, engaging, and the teachers interact personally with him, taking great stock in his overall experience there. Plus, after each camp he attends (and he's attended several), he grows by leaps and bounds artistically. And that's just not in what he creates. It's also by his enhanced understanding and appreciation of art. We love it when he shares with us what he's learned in class, whether it's about Matisse, or a certain painting technique. However, the instructors here were very patient and good at explaining things to me in great detail, if needed. They're very knowledgeable about driving tractor-trailers and the industry in general. Vermont Ballet Theater School offers great dance education from the tiniest children to…read morepreprofessional teens. My daughter has danced at VBTS for 12 years. The training that dancers receive is top rate - when the older students apply for competitive summer intensives (it's not all uncommon for dancers to attend the School of American Ballet or Pacific Northwest Ballet) or go on to professional careers they are very well prepared. The technique and artistry that they are taught is at a very high level. Younger dancers are carefully guided and have a lot of fun. In response to someone who years ago wrote that her child with a disability wasn't welcome, I am sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what happened there as there have been students with disabilities including Down Syndrome who have been very much included at the school. For some reason a couple of review have been "not recommended" - I am not sure why as they are positive, thoughtful reviews.
