Short Review:
Very nice, cozy, comfortable hotel near the Fier Barcelona conference center and the Arenas shopping center. Every single staff member is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are top notch. Highly recommend this hotel.
Long Review:
I was in town for an event at the Fira de Barcelona and this hotel is very conveniently close. It's also in the middle of a bustling square with shopping and restaurants so the location is ideal.
The hotel itself is absolutely top notch. The rooms are amazingly large and comfortable, and the hotel amenities rival none! From the spa to the rooftop bar to the restaurant to the lobby bar to the walkable gardens, it's undeniably one of the best hotels in Barcelona.
The check-in process was really nice. The hotel manager even walked over and welcomed us in, as he was in the lobby ensuring everything was ok with the hotel. Just a lovely welcoming. All of the staff throughout the stay was very helpful, provided suggestions for food, sightseeing, and just anything we needed. The rooftop bar has outstanding views of the city, not to mention fantastic food and drinks. In fact, we were on a mission to find the best Sangria in Barcelona, and I can tell you without a doubt, it is at the Intercontinental!
I did take the time to visit the spa and get a massage. A very different experience from any other hotel. The "wet room" was a large shared space that included a pool with several different areas for massage bubbles, and in-water lounging. Off the deck was both the steam room and the dry sauna, and there were 'outdoor showers' for rinsing off. There were also heated tile Zero Gravity loungers which you could relax on while waiting for your appointment. They think of everything for the traveler because I didn't pack a bathing suit, but they had some available for purchase. I'd definitely recommend visiting the spa during your visit even if you don't get a massage.
Highly recommended you stay at this hotel while you're in Barcelona. You won't be disappointed and I will definitely be going back to the Intercontinental for a stay! read more
