Going to Integrative Wellness Center completely change how I was living. At about age 9, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid. My Endocrinologist did not tell me I had Hashimoto's, and I did not find out I had it until I was 17. I had many symptoms including severe migraines that would sometimes cause my vision to leave, sharp shooting pains through my entire body, muscle aches, joint pain, bad seasonal allergies, and fatigue. Staff is friendly and the doctors are very accessible and attentive. They feel like family because they make patients feel that they really do understand and care about their health and well being. I have autoimmune thyroid disease. When I started treatment, I was 150 lbs ( on a very small frame, normal weight 128-130) and I could not sleep and felt tired all of the time. I was fairly knowledgeable about alternative health treatments and the causes of my condition and I am an avid fan of weight training. I knew that I needed to change my diet but needed guidance as to what to do and how to approach it. I found IWC on Facebook and instantly knew it was the place for me. I began a toxic cleansing program (with herbal supplements and vitamins and meal shakes) and a diet change. The supplements change as you complete certain phases of treatment and foods that are restricted at first are slowly re-introduced into your diet. It takes some discipline for some to avoid certain foods, but not for me. Instantaneously, (the first 5 days) the weight began to fall off. Since my teen years I had digestive issues, which just became more serious and chronic throughout the years. Using herbal laxatives had become an integral part of my life. I would like to start out by sending a big "THANK YOU" to my daughter "Naomi" for introducing me to IWC. Prior to starting my journey here, I have had terrible luck with my health. For the past seven years I have been coping with "TN", Trigemila Neuralga, known as Dr. Simmons states, "the suicide disease". Within the past two years I have been recovering from a procedure called an "MVD", which was performed by Dr. Kenneth Casey. The condition I have is not curable, but the procedure is to hopefully not have the pain return in my face. I am so impressed with the care I am receiving at this facility. I am a very health conscious person and I work out 5 days a week but yet I was having so many issues. Prior to working with Dr. Shields & Dr. Paris at IWC, I had been experiencing increased hormonal issues due to thyroid (turns out I have Hashimoto's and on the path to develop disease related to inflammation), hormone imbalance, brain fog, constant tiredness, weight gain, loss of interest in everything.
