Dreamy, incredible and full of awe!…read more This gorgeous opera house is everything. We came here for Simon Boccanegra by Giuseppe Verdi. Disclaimer: I'm not heavy into opera or know a whole lot about them. However, this place was a WOW moment. Being in Vienna, the most incredible, historical, full of life, music and character, city in the world - a visit to the Opera House was needed. We are so glad we did! They have all kind of seat selections, balcony, floor and even standing for a more budget friendly approach. Our little balcony section was awesome though it had a heavily blocked view we were able to hear everything so clearly plus we had the little screens where you can follow along with the vocals. It was an unforgettable experience and so worth it if you're in Vienna visiting. You can also book tours and learn all about the history of the opera house which I think would be fascinating to learn.

I did not know he was such a narcissistic twat until he went off to WWI and was humbled and matured by the soldiers he met. He really loved his wife, Edith, though who's to say if he would have stayed faithful if they both lived to old age. I had no idea he died at age 28, and he and his wife died within days of each other, and he died on Halloween 1918. There's a painting by Klimt I wanted to see, Death and Life, but unfortunately two of their floors were closed for some renovations, so I was disappointed that I was unable to view it during my visit to Vienna. Hofburg Palace Wow,…read morethis is difficult to say. I love visiting palaces, and the Hofburg is beautiful, but the Sisi Museum was a letdown. The guide escorting us was excellent, but the price doesn't justify the time and money. I'm not a big Sisi fan, so that probably plays a part. A much better use of your time would be the Austrian National Library or the other museums and churches nearby. Sorry -- it hurts me to say this.
