Last year purchased a crib, dresser and glider from here 6 months before my due date. Crib came in…read morea month, dresser 6 weeks and glider 8 weeks. All very nice quality and have been used 8.5 months now and still look brand new. The stuff is expensive but this is our first baby so we really wanted items that were new and built well. I agree with some reviews that Martha and Jim are very nice folks and they didn't pressure us, although their recommendations were some of the more expensive items they had, which we didn't go with. We went middle of the road for what we wanted and could afford. Overall definitely check this place for baby furniture. If you want a cheap $200 crib though, don't waste your time. Really nothing here we saw was below $400.

A Baby's Nest is a one of a kind place and a one of a kind experience. It is the best option when you want to see the styles, craftsmanship, finishes, colors, and options before purchasing. Thanks to Martha for welcoming customers warmly, sharing their excitement, and making sure everything is perfect. A refreshing shopping and purchasing experience unparalleled by any other small or large stores that carry baby furniture; absolutely the best choice!

It's a Target, right? So you know what to expect: go in for Tilex and a roll of Certs, walk out…read more$200 poorer. I'm not sure if a review explaining a Target will be helpful to anyone, because either (a) you're a Target superfan, or (b) you haven't been born yet, and thus unable to experience a Target. In which case, diapers and formula are by electronics. I write this review as a desperate plea to management: your grocery section is an utter disaster. Clothing, housewares, health and beauty - these are all perfectly acceptable. But the part that makes you Super is a mess: improperly placed inventory and subsequent price confusion, extremely outdated perishables (one time, I bore witness to an entire shelf of expired mayo bottles that had heterogeneously separated they'd been untouched for so long), barren sections and conversely, blocked off aisles from stockers creating literal blockades during prime shopping time... The list goes on. I've tried bringing it up nearly every visit with a separate basket featuring the latest expired goods from an unsellable scavenger hunt, but nothing seems to change. Cashiers are great. Especially Red (whose name I don't know), a spry and spritely auburn haired gal in her silver years running on 25 year old energy. She's an absolute delight. Grocery is a 1.5, the rest is a 4. Please, please fix it!

The employees who staff the intake area are just delightful, helping carry items to the donation area in the rear of the store from your car to the holding bins. I do a Swedish Death Cleansing about every 4 months, so I always have items piling up in the back seat of my car, waiting to go. Also, pro tip: if you're lucky to lose a little weight and your clothes are looser than normal, clean 'em up and donate! It makes it less likely that you'll creep back into that bigger size if they're gone and someone else is looking good! Inside, the store is bright, staffed well, the items are out to sell and if you don't see what you want today, go back tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. New things are always to be found. And you'll feel pretty good for supporting a charity that actually benefits people in our local community.

I find so many high quality items for the kind of prices that should be on USED items. I have been to the large FOR PROFIT store up the street and the prices are so crazy, seriously. I shop at Salvation Ary because they are a charity and do so much to help make this world better. I only donate to them. I think based on my experience here that some of the Yelp reviews are not real customers. Thank you and God bless you!

The Hanover Crossing mall in Hanover has been in the midst of a major and much needed makeover for…read morethe last few years. The construction is nearing completion and has turned an old-fashioned mostly indoor mall of years past into a more modernized version of an outside shopping center with stores having their own buildings accessed from well manicured outdoor sidewalks with plenty of parking in the middle of it all. While not as charming as the Derby Street Shops which underwent a similar makeover about 15 years ago, but still nice and certainly much improved from the dated mess that was there previously. This latest L.L. Bean outpost has recently opened and I paid it a visit a few days ago. It is certainly big, bright and well-organized although of course not nearly as mammoth and wonderful as the original satellite store in Freeport Maine. But I am pleased to have this location so close by. As with everything everywhere prices have gone up on much of the tried and true L.L. Bean merchandise and products are no longer made in the USA. Most things it seems at L.L. Bean have been outsourced to China which continues to be a disappointment. I miss the days of the USA made products that could once be found here. But there are reasons still to shop at L.L. Bean. I am a decades long fan of their Ragg wool socks for example which I wear throughout the winter. They are very warm, comfortable and last a long time. I am also a big fan of their canvas tote bags and I cannot tell you how many of those I own. I keep at least 4 of them in my car at all times as they are the bags I bring with me to go to the supermarket and to the farmers market, etc. They are my beach and boat tote bags as well. They are sturdy, strong, can be machine washed and dried and they last for years. And they are fun to have monogrammed with initials or any word or phrase up to 10 characters. I also love the L.L. Bean H2O rain coat and H2O rain jacket I own which both have hoods and zip-out liners. These are so good at keeping me warm dry in the rain that I no longer use an umbrella (I hate umbrellas so this is a big win!). I am looking to get a new H2O rain jacket so when I am ready, I'm glad to be able to get it here. My husband just found very nice, warm pair of leather gloves here in a men's size XL. He is a big guy and has such trouble finding XL gloves with long enough fingers so this was good news. Nothing of course will meet the shopping experience and scope of the original Freeport Maine store but I am very happy to have this store nearby for easy access.

Yesterday was opening day for the wonderful Hingham Farmers Market. It's been a long winter waiting…read morefor it to re-open! In addition to the local honey, organic baby spinach greens and mussels I purchased, I noticed a table filled with interesting jewelry. At the table I met a local artist by the name of Derith Meyer. I was immediately attracted to the tumbled glass necklaces and earrings she'd made and had for sale. The jewelry had many of the colors I'm drawn to such as muted blues and pales greens. A necklace in particular struck my fancy and with Derith's help I tried it on and a sale was made. Her prices are very reasonable. She also has the ability to take credit cards which isn't always the case at markets like this. Her website isn't up and running at this point so she's mainly selling at farmers markets. Look for her on Saturdays in Hingham. I've already decided I'll be back next week to purchase another necklace or two for friends of mine with birthdays coming up. And maybe I'll get some matching earrings for my necklace. I like supporting local artists and craftspeople. Farmers markets make it easier for these folks to showcase their wares. I love these markets and I'm always on the lookout not only for local sources of food but for other delights like handmade jewelry. This was a good find for me yesterday. If you're interested and want to know more about this artist's work, give her a call. In the meanwhile, I hope she gets that website working.
