I also recently took my car to him because during a recent oil change and Meineke they told me my front diverential was leaking and I needed a new gasket, $119 to fix it. There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

This truck had belonged to my former landlord whereupon his daughter sold it to me as the old boy had gone to a retirement facility. Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

The owner did not recognize her truck and therefore called the police to have it towed. Her doorbell camera recorded the tow so she was able to clearly see the name of the company logo on the tow truck. Within a time span of 2-3 hours she called the company and asked if they were the ones who towed her truck. They either replied with "I don't think so." or "No.". Personally, I find both answers unacceptable. Speculating the reason for that answer is not fair, however, the company's professionalism was seriously lacking regardless. When she explained that she could see her truck being towed on a camera she was then told that they did, in fact, tow her truck. She told them she was leaving now to pick it up. We arrived shortly afterwards to acquire her truck and were told the office was empty and we would have to wait. Albeit the wait was not long, she would have appreciated having the knowledge about the possibility of having to wait. When she paid $300.00 for the tow (2.4 miles from her home and less than 5 hours on tow company's property) the owner (who, by the way, called her after my original review was posted) graciously waived the $20.00 storage fee. When this man called, he asked her to tell me to remove the negative review as it would hurt his business. He also replied to me personally through YELP and called me a liar.
