We were told 5:00 p.m. We got there at 4:40. The cashier was very rude and unpleasant. She told me to read the sign - they closed at 4:30. We asked if there was any way the could accommodate us. She was rude and walked away from the window while we were talking to her. We had called and spoken to her only 20 minutes before and told her where we were coming from and asked directions. We went straight there. The very least she could have said is that we couldn't make it before they closed. A man there was more polite, but firm and told us that no, there are no exceptions and we had to come back another day. Can't imagine EVER going there again or recommending it to anyone.

This is a trash & recycling hub located next to the entrance of Buddy Attick Lake Park. It is an…read moreoutdoor open space where you can bring plastic containers, boxes, used motor oil, clothing to drop off, and even food scraps. All of the containers are neatly labeled with clear instructions on the outside of the dumpsters of what you can and cannot dump. It's very clean, neat, and organized. I am impressed that this system is back here, there are many places in the area that may only have one recycle bin for an entire community, which led me to believe that recycling in my area was not taken seriously, until I found this place! Definitely a good pitstop to make if you live in the area. You can even make this a stackable habit, by recycling, then make your way over to the park for a walk (I know y'all are laughing right now). This is a nice reminder that that there are systems in place designed to reduce the amount of trash sent to landfill sites, which decreases emissions of methane, a dreadful greenhouse gas. It wasn't until this past holiday season when both Christmas and New Year's Day were on Wednesdays -- the only day of the week recycling is picked up from houses. I hosted a holiday party right after Christmas, so i was hurting... HURTING lol. A quick search led me to this recycling center, and I was like "OH, that's what that is!" So i loaded up my car and hoped for the best. I showed up and I was pleased that the signs were thorough, broken down, and conveniently labeled what to place where. There were like 10 giant recycle bins -- which, unsurprisingly, were mostly full because everyone probably had the same struggle I did. This facility is just for Greenbelt residents, after all. I was able to drive right up to the bins and get rid of the billion boxes I had. I really appreciate this spot being so close to home, and it's really good for the environment. Now, if there's a trash dump equivalent, it'd be nice to have that backup as an emergency too.

Recently moved into a new home, and the previous owners left a lot of junk that needed to be…read moredisposed of. Since I live in Baltimore County, this was the closest facility. Also nice that they accept paint which cannot be disposed of in the normal trash. They open early at 7 AM so you can get there and still be able to do other things with your day. I even went once before work and had no problems getting in and out. They will allow you to leave up to 20 gallons, which is nice, I had about 12 to dispose of and they took them all without any issues. It is very well organized and easy to get into. They have separate locations set up for appliance disposal TV disposal regular recycling and scrap metal. It was easy to navigate back-and-forth and drop things at the proper locations, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Since it is only open to Baltimore county residents and I had just moved from another county I thought I was gonna have a hard time since my license still had my old address. I brought a copy of my mortgage statement and they allow me to dump everything I needed to dump. Hopefully it's not a place that I will have to frequent, but at least it was not a bad experience.

You do have to show identification when disposing of bulk trash at the dump. The people who scan your ID are very pleasant and always greet you.
