While we haven't seen our wedding pictures yet, our engagement pictures were AMAZING. She has such a knack for making you feel relaxed and happy so that you take the best photos possible. At our wedding, we fell a little behind schedule, and Dara remained really calm and was able to take all of the pictures that we wanted. She is such a joy to work with. If you haven't booked a photographer yet, book Dara right now! She is worth every penny and more. You can tell by looking at her portfolio that couples tend to hire her for engagement, wedding, and then baby portraits because she is that good. If we are still in the Raleigh area when we have our first child, we will definitely be doing baby portraits with Dara!

Amy Turner is the photographer/owner of Your Still Life Photography and she did a great job. I've worked in this industry for some time and can definitely say that she's good at what she does. Engagement sessions are pretty straight forward. You pose, you smile, the photographer snaps their camera, etc. What makes a good photographer in these run of the mill sessions is how creative they are in how they pose you and how good they are at capturing you and your s/o in a "moment". I've seen MANY wedding images/engagement sessions and I absolutely love how creative Amy is with her poses. She only spent about 30 minutes doing our engagement session, which seems short but you can get a lot of images in 30 minutes. She shot so many images we liked that my fiance and I had a really hard time picking and choosing which ones we wanted to buy. She's really responsive and helpful when you have questions. She's also super energetic and you can tell she really loves what she does. She also does other types of work besides weddings like family portraits, maternity, etc.

She was so patient with our kids, came up with creative poses, and worked quickly without rushing us. Our pictures were the best family portraits that we have ever taken. My husband hates the hastle of getting a family portrait done and he didn't mind. After our session, Amy sent us a link for proofs rather quickly. It was great to see them online. We were able to order prints and Christmas cards. I've never received so many compliments. It was a great experience. If you would like lovely family pictures done in a natural setting - make an appointment with Amy.

Her magic is in her kind, warm, bubbly personality...it makes you feel like you can truly be yourself, which can be tricky when someone is staring at you with a camera. Carrie truly loves what she does when she's behind the camera, so it makes the time you spend with her fun. Her energy and warmth are infectious! Carrie captured the most precious moments for my husband and I for our engagement photos, she also took our wedding photos at the Seattle courthouse last spring which turned out beautifully, and this fall she will be taking our wedding reception photos in my home town, and I can't wait. My husband and I have done the whole engagement-wedding thing in a very non-traditional way, so hiring Carrie was the perfect choice because she won't give you cookie cutter pictures. Carrie is imaginative, playful, and spirited...her images reflect her creative flair. Our pictures were romantic yet very personal, she captured the best moments! She is bar none the best photographer we've worked with! We've now had several sessions with her, and I can't truly express in words how much we appreciate the work she's done in capturing these events/moments for us. For example, we booked a newborn session with her, however after giving birth to my son and having a difficult postpartum experience, I was not exactly in a place where I felt awesome about myself, and definitely did not feel up to being in front of a camera! I really only wanted pictures of our newborn son and some with my husband and son. She gently convinced me otherwise, and I have to say I'm so SO happy she did. I was amazed that although I didn't feel particularly stunning or camera ready, she captured beautifully simple and authentic interactions between a mother and her newborn son. It didn't matter how I looked/felt, the pictures turned out beautifully and those happen to be my most treasured of us. She is a mother of two herself, so she was so very patient with working with our little one! She takes pride in her work, and it shows in the final product. You will be elated!
