If you have a loved one who is sick, do not send them here! A family member was here and was completely neglected, on numerous occasions.

When I quit my job as a Medical Assistant I wasn't really certain what I wanted to do. When I saw an ad in the Journal Times for Home Instead Senior Care it struck a chord with me. I went on the Home Instead website to learn more about it. It seemed like a job that I could be happy doing. Caring for seniors in their homes is definitely different from anything I've done before, but I truly enjoy it. I know that every day I'm with them I make a difference in their lives. I treat them like I would treat a family member: with patience, kindness, and dignity. The most rewarding part of care giving is when they say, "Thank you for all that you've done today". And I can honestly tell them, "It's my pleasure." I feel that my service is valued both by the Home Instead office staff and by the clients themselves. I do think that for the high level of responsibility we have for keeping our clients safe and well cared for, the pay should be higher. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this information. Kerry asked a lot of questions to help narrow down our options. She recommended several places to help us determine what size/feel would work best for our situation. Kerry set up the appointments for our tours and checked with us to get feedback. Our timeline for moving needed to happen sooner than we thought, and Kerry helped keep us on track. My father-in-law is happy with his new home and we appreciate Kerry's help.

Several months ago I'd grown increasingly worried about my mom's safety at home. The day we were to…read morediscuss assisted living with her doctor, I found myself calling 911 and sending her to the hospital for what would be 51 days, sepsis, 2 surgeries & 2 rehab stints. Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options, mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. If I had a do over, I would have started with Senior Living Experts, they are amazing!

Review: Very disappointed in Rosewood Manor. They made several promises and they did not keep them…read more The advertise they have a nurse on staff. They do have a nurse on staff but not on staff at Rosewood. The nurse on staff works at their other facility which is approximately 30 minutes away from Rosewood. They did not give pureed food when a doctors order was in place for pureed food (This went on for several months). They try to cut costs by not turning on A/C when it is 82 in the facility. They had a medication error and the patient received a med for an additional month after the med was discontinued. A family member found the error and corrected it, not the facility. There is only one staff member on duty at a time and they go outside to smoke, talk on the phone and let the dog out. They are outside for up to 20 minutes and nobody is inside with the residents. They aren't concerned with safety. They transfer patients without belts and with only one person when two people are needed. The same resident fell out of bed twice in one month. They did not take precautions to prevent this. The family members had to make changes to help ensure the residents safety. Activities were not changed to fit the ability of the resident. During the activities the staff member is texting on their phone and not paying attention to the residents. The residents 'adult diapers' are not changed on a regular basis as they say they are. On several occasions residents have been found with urine soaked through their clothes and onto their chair. The staff are very impatient with the residents.
