Firstly, i couldn't get my buggy in as it was upstairs so i had to fold it up and take my daughter up and all the bags with nappies etc. Not the greatest start. I assumed there would be more room upstairs than what there actually was, they could really do with having bigger premises that are more accessible. On the plus side though, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and obviously enjoy what they do. They did their jobs very efficiently. My daughter was in the toddler section of the room rather than the main part but i was very impressed that it was seperate. End of the day, my daughter had great fun so i have to give this a big thumbs up.

The party room is nice and seperate but still quite small. The play equpitment was really good with a great toddler section completely sperate to the big childrens play zone. the staff were attentive and friendly and hosted the party really well. would like to see it a little less busy. my little one enjoyed himself and the food was nice and they were offered a good choice.

We had great fun for at least 3 hours, although the archery was a bit poor. Great guide and attitude from the staff. Finished off with a good lunch. Great time, but not cheap.

I went on a visitors pass and i definately wouldn't pay the prices to join that they are asking. There is a large gym and a large swimming pool but there are other places in Aberdeen that have these at a quarter of the price. Yes you pay to be exclusive and have that exclusive membership but if you ask me it's a waste of money. When i went i felt very out of place and it's really because i wasn't as big a snob as everyone else! It's a world of who owns what and who can do something better than everyone else - definately not for me. The staff are friendly and helpful though and the equipment is great. Just a case of money and snobbyness.

I've been a member of Bannatynes for 2 years now and really like it. Since joining I've lost over…read more20 lbs and 10% bodyfat with the help of a programme designed for me by one of their instructors (not via personal 1-2-1 training). This is a FREE service with an initial fitness screening with all the usual weight, height but also lung capacity, bodyfat, strength and associated parameters. The fitness instructor then designs a programme and you get re-assessed at the end of each one. As a fledgling runner, I worked on losing fat then building strength and supplemented the programme with fitness classes, including spinning and bodypump. In the last year I have taken 1 hour off my marathon time! I wanted to write a review as the only other review is from a long time ago and I think that if the club was like that (unwelcoming), it has since changed. I find it very friendly and quite the opposite of snobby. As a rather overweight person when I started, I was very aware of all the other fit people around me but was quite surprised to find lots of help, from fellow users and the attentive staf. I didn't feel daft trying to use the weights and learned a lot of different stretches and warm-ups from others. I look forward to dropping in a couple of times a week and would recommend this club over most of the others (I have had day passes and attended classes at all the major independant and chain gyms as well as many of the hotel clubs). It has a well priced (discount for members) beauty spa which offer really intensive leg and back massages amongst other services and there are some nice trails around the river Don if you want to have a run outside and shower there afterwards. Across the road there is a health shop at the local Tesco's, which is handy for stocking up on gels, herbal creams etc. It isn't the cheapest available but I think my health is worth it.

This review relates to the walks from the Back o' Bennachie side. The Benachie Centre walks and car…read morepark are on the eastern aspect of the hills. At a little over 500 metres at its highest peak, Bennachie is an accessible hill walking site, barely 30 miles by road from Aberdeen. The Forestry Commission website linked below gives all the details, so I will concentrate on my experiences. The climb to Oxen Craig, the tallest of the peaks, from the Back o' Bennachie car park (easiest to find when approaching from Aberdeen) is steep if you are not experienced. It may be better to warm-up on one of the shorter, flatter walks if the weather is cool. There are short forest walks of as little as 1 1/2 miles. The main walk uphill is steep through the trees, but very well maintained. It gets very busy over summer, especially at weekends! Once you are above the tree line, the exposed side and top of the peaks can get windy, so be prepared. The views on a clear day are breathtaking - as this is in the North East of Scotland, the surrounding mountain ranges protect the area from most of the clouds and rain that affects western Scotland. One criticism of the otherwise great job done by the Forestry people - the various walks are colour-coded, but the key is only at the bottom. Half-way up through the trees, there is a point where a few trails meet: if you've forgotten which colour represented which trail, there's no way of checking. Overall, the Back o' Bennachie approach is thoroughly enjoyable!

Getting right to the top is worth the effort as the views are stunning. I would recommend taking a flask as a well earned cuppa is a great idea. Care is needed is you have young children as there are some sharp drops at the top too
