Gary is the best psychiatric nurse practitioner I have had in 10+ years. I've known Gary for 2…read moreyears and his quality of care is magnificent. Here's the biggest thing, he genuinely cares about his patients. He wants to see his patients live a good quality of life. That means he listens, counsels and makes an action plan to make YOU a better YOU. There's a quality of life that is absolutely beautiful out there, and Gary helps you take steps towards that. At least, that's what he did with me. I went from life in shambles, to an optimistic view on life every time I wake up in the morning. That's priceless.

If I could give Gary Wharton negative Stars I would, I was referred to him and first I had to visit…read morea primary care physician and a neurologist to check the blood pressure in my head to make sure if I could continue stimulants for my ADHD ( so I had a lot riding on this appointment and I had been waiting a long time unmedicated and I was going nuts) I called the office and instead of calling me back he starts texting me, which I had never experienced from a doctor's office. He asked me for my personal information through text and it felt very odd to me, so when I told him I felt uncomfortable sending all that through text, he was rude to me about it. That should have been my first indicator but I was desperate so I went ahead and made an online telehealth appointment with him at 3:30 the following week. So the day comes and I leave work and go home so I have a quiet environment to do what I'm assuming is a long intake just basically pouring out everything I have going on so I can get the help that I need. I check into my telehealth visit at 3:20, 10 minutes early. And at 3:40 he texts me and said, "you're 10 minutes past your appointment, I'm canceling it, good luck in your life". I was frantic, I immediately started texting him back and saying what do you mean I'm on here? Hello? I've been on here for 20 minutes waiting for you to enter. I took off work for this, I've been waiting so long for this, I really need to get back on my medicine because it's affecting every avenue of my life. No response. So I call his office over and over. No response. So I exit the video chat and then keep going back in it hoping that he'll see me still continuing to try and he'll open it and be like oh my bad. No response. So I sat on my couch bawling, thinking I just did all these other doctor's appointments and waited this long to come to this man and this is what he does. I just completely wasted my time. Way later he texts me back and says "I'm sorry I forgot it was a telehealth visit I was sitting in my office waiting for you to show up in person".... Seriously? And then he says let's try again for this Friday at 2:30. So I wrote back and said I'm a single mom of two and I work on commission, I work Friday so this will be the second time this week I will have to block myself out and lose money, will you remember that it's a telehealth visit and show up to this one? He wrote me back and said "you sound bitter and like you're questioning my trust. Maybe you should look for somebody else." I was absolutely appalled. This dude has the personality of one of those toxic narcissistic douchey guys you meet on a dating website lol. He's a pompous ass and it was a super unprofessional experience from beginning to end. I still have all the messages, I will gladly share.

Avoid this entire organization (all locations) - they have gotten "too big for their britches"…read more Although the providers themselves are sufficiently competent they have grown too large to provide acceptable patient care. You WILL experience gaps. With multiple locations you will not be able to contact your provider, everything is automated and you will be leaving voicemails. Those voicemails will either go unanswered entirely or MAYBE be returned after 48 hours. The staff at each location is only in charge of HALF their own job, aka they issue your script and disappear. All subsequent communications/resolutions go to a "med management team" that never sees you, and could care less about timeliness or you in general. Expect your script to be filled out incorrectly, expect to have to call you pharmacy then med management then the pharmacy then med management then the pharmacy....over and over and over again relaying mssges you don't understand bc you don't work in the medical industry - because no one at the office will make the effort to resolve the issue themselves....you better be a great self advocate bc your going to need to fight for your life here. God forbid you get sent to the Danville location - where Evelyn is the face of the front desk. Her mood is unpredictable but immediately evident within the first exchanged sentence. Not sure how a mental health facility can employ someone so openly condescending, pretentious and irritable...the niche clientele is likely anxious...we deserve warmth. Even their HR person "reached out"...but it was just for show...bc she didn't give me her number OR her last name to call back hahaha - just went through the "motion" of calling - likely to show her boss my number on the caller ID as "having done it". They are just SO careless. I'm so tired of the nausea and vomitting I'm subjected to monthly bc they can't make two scripts of Prozac meet. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!!

Communication is severely lacking, and it's very disappointing that people who are supposed to treat mental health issues only cause more of those issues for their patients. They lied and said they took my debit card off of my son's account and continue to charge large amounts to my checking account without warning. The office manager even lied directly to me about removing it. Don't waste your time here. I got a second opinion and was the healthiest I'd ever been TWO WEEKS LATER. Speaks volumes.
