(Im from out of state) I looked at Southern Housepitality as it was first on my list, and was very happy with all the furnishings they carry. I was greeted as I walked in and felt at ease as I browsed around ZERO pressure. I walked around with no particular interest just gathering it all in. The store inventory was placed perfect to see everything. I got locked on a few items and did some measuring of a nice hutch/TV stand and a clock. I took pictures and sent them to my son as he was at work. I asked to save it for a few hours and will be back to look with my son. Erica was the salesperson who helped me. She was very professional and an accommodating !! I was back in a few hours. (after closing hours to wait for us). And I did buy the items. Great customer service from beginning to the end..... Great store, I'll be back !

This is an upscale consignment store for home decorations, furniture and accessories. They carry…read moreeverything from glassware, paintings, curtains, decorations to beds, dining room tables, etc. The process is that an item is introduced at one price and 30 days later is discounted and then another 30 days later is discounted again if it does not sell. I have not tried to sell anything here, but we have purchased items here successfully. There is no negotiation aside from the posted price - at least the signs all say that. This store would be a good place to find a hidden gem or to sell something that is nice but no longer fits your space or style. I posted a cool picture of this large, round vintage, art-deco style table that seats about 8-10 but I had no where to put it. Which was good, because my wife hated it.

They have great service, we were able to hold some items until we closed and they gave us a name of someone to move the items. The value is very high. You have to be quick and go often because things move fast. They are often one of a kind. Everyone there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The owners are fabulous and Jeanne helped us pick out some lovely pieces. A king bed frame to die for, a mattress, a roll top desk, and a hutch. We have gone back for some beautiful night stands and an oak table!

I love the fact that I can walk around the store without a sales person bothering me, but when I need assistance, someone is always available and willing to answer a question with a smile! They even fixed a loose handle and added a missing screw on my coffee table before I picked it up. 1) The pieces here move QUICKLY, so if you see something you like BUY IT because it may not be there when you come back 2) Unlike some other furniture/antiques places, the price you see is the price you need to pay. Things don't sit here very long, so there's no negotiating involved. Could be a turn-off at first for those that enjoy wheeling and dealing, but honestly everything is priced to sell...so it's either worth it to you or it isn't! 3) They do not post things on their website - new arrivals go on their Facebook page which is updated very frequently (our coffee table was marked sold very shortly after we left the store). I see some things on their Instagram, but for up-to-the minute inventory, Facebook is your best bet. 4) It's a mix of old and new stuff. Just need to make sure you know which you're buying (everything is clearly marked) if that's important to you.

When I got it back, it looked like they had used tinted hot glue to piece it together. It was old but not an antique and I assumed it was the best that could be done. I recently brought in a new white chair that had a back leg broken (teen boys!) When I went to pick it up, the woman at the desk commented on how clean it was and they don't usually get chairs that clean. When I got it home, I noticed dirty fingerprints all over it. As I was trying to clean it, I realized it also had a red dusting all over it. I believe they must have taken it to their shop, and let it sit there uncovered while the sanded other pieces of furniture. While the repair of the leg is solid, not protecting the furniture from dirt in their shop is unacceptable. It still looks dingy compared to the other chairs, very disappointed.

I wasn't looking for those items today but I will be back when I have time to go through their enormous collection. They have gorgeous crocheted sweaters for children. They all looked new and made by hand. Absolutely beautiful crocheted cardigans and dresses, lovely quilts, and embroidered pillows. There were also a lot of collectibles. Furnishings are located upstairs. I saw several baskets that I liked but they were priced extremely high as were the few pieces of furniture I looked at. The prices may have been negotiable but I did not ask. As stated, I will visit again to go through the vast collection of antique and vintage table linens. I will also revisit the furnishings in the hopes thar the prices are more reasonable. Great place!
