DO NOT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS!!!! I don't even know where to begin. This was the worst experience of my life. I came in with a friend for a helix piercing and left paying 65€ for TWO holes that don't even go all the way through. Esther was my piercer and she was very out of it. She kept telling me how she was done with the day, which is not what you want to hear as someone gets a needle out. Then she pierces my ear, and doesn't go all the way through, and spends almost 45 minutes trying to get the jewelry in. She starts crying and keeps trying. Then she cries again and is bawling at this point telling me she is sorry and can't get the jewelry in. I am trying to comfort this woman, telling her it's okay, while blood is gushing down my neck. She decided to try a different piece of jewelry, but before that, she shoved another needle in my ear (without asking). I thought she was going through the same hole, but no - she pierced a second hole adjacent to the first hole, and this one didn't go all the way through either. She kept saying sorry but ended up putting an earring through half ways and letting me leave. She still charged me 65€ and had the audacity to ask my friend what piercing she wanted now. Obviously she declined and we left. I had blood all over so I decided to stop into another piercing shop since she didn't offer me saline spray, and the piercer there took a look and was shocked that I left and PAID for that. He said the piercing wasn't all the way through and that there wasn't even a ball on the end of the earring, so it would have come out immediately. They cleaned me up and took the piercing out, since it wasn't all the way through.

Well, I'm in the Netherlands. This is a trip to explore the culture of my roots since I'm from artificial insemination and ancestry DNA clearly traced me back here with records and spit. Because of the above, I wanted have this trip remembered on my skin via tattoo, thus adding to my canvas. The girl who was mentioned who seemed versed in fine lines and floral work didn't seem to be into it, so I accepted that it wasn't going to happen. My best friend Ally however, had a duck butt tattooed on her by Yatush (it makes her happy). After she was done, he offered to do my design, and I couldn't turn him down. Yatush tattoos light-handed, quality, precisely, in a sanitary workspace, and has a great personality. He seems well versed in traditional work based on the work posted in his workspace. If anyone were to come to him for a tattoo, I'd say please invest in traditional/classic ink, he's worth it.

Had a fantastic experience getting my first tattoo as a visitor to Amsterdam. I walked in, and within an hour was getting tattooed by Pasquale. He did a great job listening to what I wanted, showed me the designs, and discussed sizing. Talked me through the whole process, and had a good chat while he was doing the work on my arm. Made sure I was comfortable. 10/10 recommend.

Esther drew the spots and we figured out 3 spots would be more fitting to my ear.

To say I had an absolute amazing experience here at Antiek Tattoo is an understatement. I was…read moretraveling to the Netherlands to visit family and I wanted to get two tattoos in Amsterdam City. I couldn't have picked a better spot. After hours of researching the web on "best tattoo spots in Amsterdam" I came across a few spots, one being Antiek Tattoo. I made an appointment last minute and originally wanted Jessy to tattoo me but apparently she was heavily pregnant and was unable to tattoo during the time I was trying to make the appointment. This worked out since I met a beautiful artist, inside and out, Natalia who just started working at Antiek Tattoo a few months ago. I connected with her right away. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I would befriend her any day. Alfred, whom I believe is both an apprentice and artist was communicating with me via email before the appointment. He was super helpful by sharing with me Natalia's Instagram to look through her work before I came in. First impressions: I walked into the shop early to get a feel of the place and was greeted by everyone (3 artists) working there. Alfred and Natalia were super helpful with everything, offering me water, and most importantly made sure I was comfortable beforehand. All three (wish I remembered the other girl artist's name)helped me with placement of the tattoo. Both tattoos took about 4 hours, since we were also taking our time. I told Natalia that I had all day so I didn't want her to feel rushed which worked out well. After the tattoos were done I had asked Alfred whats considered "normal tip" since I am a foreigner. He said that it really doesn't matter, some people give 10 euros, 20, or nothing at all. I was so pleased not only with Natalia's talent and warm welcoming, but most importantly my overall experience, so I tipped her 50 euros on top of the 350 that Alfred charged me for both tattoos. Side note: Alfred was kind enough to give me a free Antiek Tattoo shirt that I was eyeballing at the beginning of the appointment as I was leaving. I truly wish Antiek Tattoo was closer to me. This would be my go-to tattoo spot. HIGHLY recommend this place if your in Amsterdam City. Blessed to have found this place PS. If you like Japanese-influenced tattoos, this is the place for you…read more I have to say my experience here was one of the best when it comes to body ink. Richard, the owner, was professional, timely, organized and made me feel at ease from the moment I met him. We initially corresponded via email. He was very timely about replying and was very accommodating. I scheduled in advance for my appointment. He does have a wait for about a month, so plan ahead. I came in here this past week and we chatted for about 15 minutes. I basically told him what I wanted, and afterwards, let him have free rein to design the artwork. I really like when artists take my ideas and meld their style into it. It creates a fantastic piece of artwork. When I came for my session, I met Richard at the door and he was all ready to go! He got to work immediately and was very focused on the artwork. He also made me very comfortable and his employees were also very nice and chatty. I learnt that tattoos aren't as taboo as I thought, and that more than a 100 years ago, kings and the elite also had tattoos. Very cool history lesson. I was also told about Gabber dancers. Four and a half hours later, I come out alive. I won't lie, it was painful, but so well worth it. I always tell myself this is the last time and then I find another great artist! I highly suggest this place if you're looking for a Japanese style tattoo. Richard was really good, and I'll definitely be back to have him work on more pieces. BTW, this place is also right in the middle of Chinatown. So after getting inked, you can find a nice, good and cheap place to refuel and heal!
