I try to visit her at least once every six weeks for a facial to 'refresh' my skin and she is great on recommending products that suit my face. I still get breakouts regularly to the point of still using Proactivy until Amanda recommended another option. She carries the Imagine Skin Care product line and recommended the Clear Cell Facial Cleaner. Since I have been using it, I rarely get breakouts at all anymore. Again, I don't tend to spend money on facial products, but I love the Total Repair Cream too. Going to Amanda regularly and using Imagine has my skin looking better than ever. The Salon is not big but that's what I like about it. It is very professional and classy and since it is small, very personalized. Unlike other salons I have been to where the registration and waiting area is decorated very high-end, but once you get into the room, it is very basic, the equipment looks worn, as does the esthetician, this salon is very clean, nicely decorated, and Amanda always delivers first class skin work. Oh...and she also does Airbrush tanning. I was going on vacation and didn't want to go to a tanning salon but I also didn't want to blind other vacationers with my white legs so I booked an appointment with Amanda to get a spray tan. It looked fantastic and by the time I left to go on vacation, I looked like I just got back. Be sure to follow Amanda's instructions for maintenance, especially if you are going to be in the Ocean. Salt water will fade it quickly - fortunately, by the time I was getting in the ocean, I had a base tan so all was good. Even living in Plano, going to see Amanda in Wylie is definitely worth the drive. I even bought my monther-in-law a gift certificate to see Amanda and she is now recommending Amanda to all her friends.

Her salon is super cute, clean, cozy & relaxing & Amanda was just great, very welcoming & personable. I would absolutely recommend Desired Glamour & I will definitely be returning to the salon myself.

I had my eyeliner done here, by Beth recently. I have many many regular tattoos, but this was my…read morefirst cosmetic tattoo. I booked through groupon, and when I showed up it seemed like they expected me, so I had no scheduling issues. The shop was clean, and nicely decorated. I saw nothing alarming or unsanitary there. Beth was very nice, and reviewed the dos and don'ts with me before hand. She also reviewed how I would like my eyeliner done, obviously, before starting the process. It is a little nerve wracking to sit for 20 minutes while the numbing gel takes effect, but I've watched many youtube videos on the procedure, and they are all the same in this aspect. Beth told me what she was doing before she did it, which was comforting to me. I felt comfortable and as relaxed as possible. I used a groupon, and the groupon apparently paid for the line through the lashes, but an extra line along the top, was an extra 35$. This didn't bother me much, as it's still a discount from a lot of the other places I've seen. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I'm also very happy I decided to go that route, because it came out just perfect. Overall, I would go back again if I ever decided to have another permanent cosmetic procedure.

This is the first time I have ever posted a negative review about a merchant and honestly I am…read morepretty easy to please. However, I felt compelled to share my very negative experience with Absolute Beauty of Garland. Bill did my permanent eyeliner and I was very pleased with his work. I was scheduled to get lip liner about a year ago when there was a misunderstanding about a cancellation that left a very bad taste in my mouth. I did not complain at the time, I just decided to take my business elsewhere. Here I am a year later and still wanting to get my lips done. I decided to give them another try. In my 46 years on this earth, I don't recall ever having such a rude, unprofessional communication from a merchant. Judge for yourself. The verbatim, unedited text exchange appears below: Absolute Beauty: "Hi Lisa...touching base about your appointment for Friday. Remember that there is a $50 fee from the last appointment that you had and didn't make and that will need to be paid before you come this time. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you soon." Me: "I am going to see if I can get a refund on my groupon. I feel there was a misunderstanding on the cancellation of my appointment. I let you know a couple of days before that I would need to reschedule due to not being able to get my acyclovir filled in time for the appointment. I not sure where the disconnect was. I felt the imposition of the late fee was unfair. I really like Bill's work and this would be my second procedure with you guys. I am disappointed you would not be flexible given the circumstances. I have multiple procedures I would like to have done and know several others I can refer. I have been hesitant due to the misunderstanding on the cancellation. I am not sure why you would give up repeat business plus referrals over $50. If you can be flexible and waive it you will get it back many times over and avoid negative feedback to potential new customers. If not, then please cancel my appointment and I will seek a refund on my groupon. Thank you for your consideration." Absolute Beauty: "Okay, in the first place, you are admittedly an existing customer, so you are not eligible for that Groupon, as stated on the Groupon itself. In the second place, you did not give ample notice about rescheduling your last appointment a year ago, or I wouldn't have been sitting at the shop waiting for you...thus the reason for the no-show fee...you cost me money and I will be glad to pull communication from that time, if necessary. Further, it has been more than 2 years since I worked on you, so what is it you are saying about referrals? Lastly, I really do not appreciate the veiled threat of bad publicity because we are sticking to our policies and YOU are in the wrong. Quite frankly, given the text I just read, I think it will be in my best interest if you took your business and attitude somewhere else. I am going to cancel your appointment and wish you luck. Please don't contact us again." Me: "I was actually referring to publicity among my friends and colleagues. I think if you pull communications from that time instead of going by memory, you will see that I asked you to reschedule at least 2 days prior. I was not rude to you so I don't appreciate your rudeness. I waited more than a year to reach out to you again because of the late fee. I thought I would give you another chance. Don't worry- I will not contact you again. Absolute Beauty: "So, I don't get what part of that response was "rude", simply matter-of-factual. And I did look at communication from that time, and will stand by the facts...the truth. How, exactly, do you think I knew who you were and that there was a no-show fee? And, lastly, thank you for not contacting us again and best of luck."
