Specialties
Hello my name is Stephanie. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics, a minor in Secondary Education, and a decade of experience as a classroom teacher. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I am also currently certified for 8-12th grade Mathematics in Texas. I have worked with students of all skill levels which include but are not limited to dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, autism, deaf, blind, English learners from throughout the world, mental health issues, and gifted children. This year I have decided to leave the school district and tutor full time. I've been tutoring peers since I was a sophomore in high school and prefer the intimacy of a one-on-one or small group sessions over large classroom settings. As female minority in STEM I hold a positive influence of inspiration to children who may not see adults that look like them in this industry.
History
Established in 2022.
The classroom environment changed significantly for both teachers and students after COVID. It became evident that both my students and I required additional emotional support to achieve the academic success we were capable of. After taking some time away from the traditional school setting, I realized how much more I enjoy one-on-one tutoring compared to leading a full classroom. Small group tutoring allows me to tailor instruction to each student's individual needs, ensuring that no one is overlooked. This approach accelerates growth significantly, as every student's progress is prioritized and supported.
Meet the Business Owner: Stephanie R.
After a decade in the classroom, I started tutoring to earn extra income and quickly realized how much I enjoy working one-on-one with students. Tutoring, whether individually or in small groups, is more productive and fulfilling for both my students and me. It allows us to focus on their academic and personal goals in ways a traditional classroom setting often can't. These deeper connections result in a stronger impact on each student.
My goals are to help students advocate for themselves, build confidence, and develop motivation. Life brings constant challenges, and if I can teach students to stay grounded and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills, they’ll carry these abilities with them throughout their lives. My students inspire me, and I believe in focusing on progress rather than perfection.
