This temple is breathtakingly beautiful. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to tour this place. It is only open to non-Mormons like myself until August 8, 2015 for free, public tours. There are only 148 Mormon temples in the world, and I'm so glad I got to see one! Tours are free, but you need to go online to make reservations. There are volunteers all around directing traffic and making sure you know where to go. It was no trouble finding parking on the grounds. You start out in the smaller building to the left of the temple, which is where they have Sunday school and normal Sunday services. This building is open to everyone, Mormon or not. You watch a 10 minute video that explains the basics of the Church and briefly overviews some important rooms you will see. Next, you head to the temple and volunteers put cloth protectors over your shoes (and/or wheelchair wheels) so the carpet and marble floor do not get ruined (30,000+ people have toured this place in two weeks!). They release you in waves, so you may have to stand outside for a few minutes (under an awning, thank goodness.) There is a different representative in each room that explains the meaning of the room and points out architectural details of note. If you have lots of questions, it's best to save them for the reception area under the white tent outside - that's where you can get more information on the architecture and materials used, as well. My jaw hung open the entire time. It's GORGEOUS. The ornate details, beautiful rugs and carpet, high ceilings, lighting. Standouts to me were the baptism room and celestial room - it reminded me of the Palace of Versailles/Hall of Mirrors. The rooms get brighter and the ceilings get taller as you get closer to the Lord, they told us. There was also an unbelievable hand painted mural depicting a traditional Indiana landscape in the instruction room. Tulip tree flowers (the official state tree of Indiana) were incorporated in the woodwork and stained glass throughout the building, and they also used local glass from Kokomo that they shipped to Italy to be designed. The paintings on the walls (some of which were commissioned just for this temple) depicting the life of Jesus Christ were stunning. I now understand that the temple is a truly sacred place for Mormons, and the types of "ordinances" (rituals) that take place behind those walls. *Brownie points to the INCREDIBLE volunteers who keep it running smoothly! Everyone was very kind, smiling, and willing to point us in the right direction and answer our questions. I never once felt that anyone was trying to proselytize us - everything was told in an informational format.

It was an honor to attend one of the "public" guides through the Temple this past weekend.

I went here for about 6 months and felt connected. I stopped going because they were encouraging my…read morechild to give most of their pocket change to the church!! I mean, who is that desperate that they bring kids into giving money. Overall, I loved going there. My kids absolutely loved the annual 6 week "Movie Night" program and so did I. It's what brought me there in the first place! Preaching is good, morals are good, some sketchy stuff going on behind the stage. Great messages, preaching, and you can tell the church loves God which is the most important part!! God loves you :)

I am giving this review as quest of some relatives that are regular attenders at this church. My…read morereview is based on a single visit. When reviewing a church....I'm looking for a couple things: 1) do they present God's word in an accurate and effective manner, 2) does the worship atmosphere bring me closer to God and 3) did the operations and people ministering to me as I enter the place of worship reflect God at work in them. Based on these three criteria....I think Northview Church is an outstanding church body. On this visit we rolled into the parking out about 5 minutes before service started. We attended the 11am Sunday service. There was plenty of parking open. We were able to get from our car to in side the facility easily. The facility is very large and spacious. It seemed very clean, organized and well signed. We were greeted by smiling faces and welcomes. We felt welcome and wanted. The auditorium is large with three levels. We sat on the lower level. There was plenty of seating open as we found a seat. The seating was very comfortable. The auditorium is designed so most seats feel close to the stage. The worship time was very organized and very professional in presentation. The music reflects a contemporary top 20 Christian style of worship. These songs are very familiar and make you feel at home. The vocalists and musicians were very talented. The lighting and visual presentation was outstanding. As professional and well done as you would find at a rock show. The campus pastor did a very good job sharing announcements and information in a way that drew you in. The senior pastor presented a very good Bible based and accurate message. His message was very well organized and presented. The visuals on the screen and props on the stage effectively drew you into his Gospel message. The senior Pastor presented the Good news of Jesus Christ. His style was very relational. If you are searching for a good Bible based church...I would encourage you to give one of the Northview campus sites a try!

"A hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints."…read more That's Mercy Road's motto, meaning that all people from all backgrounds are welcome - no matter what they're story. We've all sinned and fallen short of God's plan for our lives, and no one is too far from God. Mercy Road spreads hope and love to people everywhere. The pastors here are down to earth, funny, and always have inspiring, truthful messages. The people here are all friendly and welcoming, and there's tons of cool ways to get involved. The church is all about giving back to the community and there's also kid, high school, and women-centered groups. You can join a small group, talk to someone individually, sign up for financial classes, attend fun gatherings, volunteer, start your own idea- the sky's the limit. The band here is awesome, music is great, and it's the best way to start the week. Everyone welcome!

Heartland Westfield recently launched and it's grown a lot even since the first day I went to check it out. It's located at an elementary school, so there's plenty of parking! Childcare? Yep, it's available. How about a worship team? You know it! Pastor Darryn live streams in during his sermon at the 96th St. location - but I promise you the quality of the video on the mega screen is so good that it's as if he's there in real life. :) Pastor Jarod Moore of the Westfield location and his wife Amanda are honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. I met Jarod when I started attending the 96th St. location almost 4 years ago and recently met Amanda when she began giving me piano lessons - and then graciously invited me to join her small group. :) I have complete faith that this church location will continue to stay true to what Heartland has been all along - a place that thrives on loving people well. Looking forward to seeing what God does with this group of people.
