This was my first time here at the Dundas West Junction location and overall the food was so…read moredelicious and full of zesty flavour! My sister loves this place so she took us all there to celebrate her birthday. Right away I loved the pink colour and warm, opulent vibe of the restaurant. And I loved the elegant dishes and cute touch lamps on the table. There was so much on the menu so I just trusted her to order for all of us. Wow! It was an epic birthday lunch! My favourites were the egg plant fries, charcoal butter chicken, palak paneer spinach and butter naan. And the cucumber raita really helped because I prefer mild spices and my family likes everything spicy! Here's what we ordered... MOJITO Refreshing and minty cocktail originating from Cuba, the Mojito is perfect for hot summer days. White Rum, Mint Leaves, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Soda Water, Ice (Mango version) CUCUMBER RAITA Yogurt based side with assorted spices, shredded cucumber, a great accompaniment to help you handle the spice. CHUTNEYS MANGO/TAMARIND/MINT SAMOSA CHAAT Crispy samosas chopped and topped with chickpeas tangy tamarind chutney, spicy green chutney, creamy yogourt, diced onions, chaat masala, and crunchy sev. Garnished with fresh cilantro and red chilli garlic powder. EGGPLANT FRIES Crispy eggplant served with chutneys sprinkled chaat masala and cilantro MASALA LIME FISH Spicy and tangy coconut based fish curry inspired by southern gastronomy of India, chefs special touch to basa fish marination cooked in masala curry KASHMIRI LAMB ROGANJOSH Typical Kashmiri rogan curry made with Kashmiri chilli slow cooked tendered lamb brought up together in an aromatic blend of sautéed Onions, cumins& ginger with fresh tomatoes CHARCOAL BUTTER CHICKEN Charcoal-smoked tandoori chicken in our signature tomato-butter gravy, enriched with dry fenugreek. Crafted with locally sourced tomatoes for our butter chicken sauce PALAK PANEER SPINACH COTTAGE CHEESE CURRY Widely loved as palak paneer, featuring curried spinach with tender cottage cheese cubes simmered in our chef's special green herb spices with homemade pickle garnish NAAN BREAD Butter Naan and Chilli Garlic Naan DESSERT WARM GULAB JAMUN Warm condensed milk dumplings The dessert was on the house and came with a birthday candle because our server overheard that it was my sister's birthday. Our server was awesome and the chef was friendly too. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This place looks a bit dingy but they have a huge spread: 11 veg + 11 non-veg curries, plus 1 veg +…read more1 non-veg briyani ; there were rarer dishes like egg curry, methi malai chicken & rajma. On top of that, there's a dry meat corner & a fried stuff corner. They cover a lot of ground, eg there's both dry & gravy chili chicken. The spread is probably big because it's also used for takeout (I saw staff scooping food from the buffet into a container a few times). The food is mostly of decent quality. Best of all, they're really cheap: Saturday dinner was $17.99 plus tax. They get 4.5 stars. The fried rice was tasteless but the veg Hakka noodles were pretty good. The Butter Naan was decent as naan but a bit dry for butter naan. Butter chicken used tandoori chicken, giving extra flavour & had a very rich sauce (shared with the paneer makhani). It was especially good. There were quite a few desserts: fruit, 2 mini cakes, ice cream & Indian deserts, Both mini cakes were dry. The Indian desserts & fruit were decent. There were 6 ice cream flavours but 3 were super icy & hard & 2 were super soft.

I ordered one butter chicken and one garlic naan for dinner as I was craving some Indian food…read more Butter chicken was packed properly in a container and the container was wrapped in plastic cling foil - no chance of leakage. The Butter chicken was slightly on the sweeter side and the garlic naan had a sufficient amount of garlic and butter. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and would recommend it if you caving some wholesome food. However, I wish they gave more chicken pieces with the gravy. I would love to try their all you can eat buffet if I happen to be in the area.

I had a lot of peas, 3 pieces of potato and a soggy roti. I completely understand the prices going up with the cost of food , but I still believe that a restaurant should maintain their standards. It's really too bad.

If it were run by overprotective parents it would be Smother India. Whereas if it were run by my…read moresibling, it'd be Brother India. And if it were run by my childhood best friend, it'd be Brotherfromanothermother India. What to get: Chicken Tikka Masala with Roti or Rice What not to get: India-pendence from the bloody Brits, not without a lot of bloodshed first :( Ways to improve: Slightly lower prices, slightly shorter wait times It may take awhile for your wonderful, delicious Roti to be ready, but it's worth the wait. The lovely young woman serving here does so with a smile, and is as gracious and welcoming has her food is magnificent. Indian food is plentiful in Toronto, but few places blend the spices with fresh doughy roti as wonderfully and magnificently as Mother India. I think it is quite liberal use of the word mother, because I doubt too many Indian mothers can make their food taste this good. The Tikka Masala dish borrows from British Indian food, invented by immigrants to the UK from India, which itself borrows from the original Subcontinent dishes. The Canadian incarnation of this - complete with the wonderful floury slippery roti skins, and the piping hot blend of spices and chicken inside - is unmissable. If you haven't made your way out to the West end of town for some of the ethnic delights - Indian, Caribbean and many more - along Queen St W, then you have yet to truly experience the breadth and deliciousness of the magnificent food choices in Canada's largest city. And if it existed in a world where the bloody Brits had never invaded and colonized India in the first place, then it would be "Another India." But we can't undo the heinous actions of our past. Unfortunately, we also seem unable and unwilling to learn from them.
