Wtf. I am still so baffled at mine and my husband's experience here. We are on our honeymoon, we walked by this resturant today on the way to the marina and it smelled SO good we couldn't get it out of our minds...so we went back this evening.
I should start with, I'm allergic to seafood. I've traveled a lot and have never had any issues at any Indian resturants if I stay away from the curry and make sure to order something that does not state it has seafood in it. Why? Because Indian food is almost always cooked fresh to order and if it isn't listed in the ingredients it is not an issue.
The order: mix grill with chicken and lamb.
What came: a plate with mixed meats and shrimp on top.
........?
We called the waiter over to ask the situation and he brought back a menu which did not mention any seafood. His response was they put seafood in EVERYTHING even though it is not mentioned in the menu.
He said he could get me a chicken dish without seafood which was great and my husband was happy to eat the mix grill with seafood.
Enter in the table next to us, a 4 top that we were practically sharing the table with due to the seating conditions. We had a quick little talk in which they offered to eat any seafood we didn't want and I let them know they would need to fight my husband for it.
We were doing fine when who I assumed is a manager...? Came over to "school" me on how I don't know how to order food and if I knew better I would know that all mixed grills anywhere I order had seafood even if it wasn't listed. After I explained it was fine that I had never had that problem that we were not trying to get out of paying for the dish that my husband was happily eating it and that our waiter was getting us another chicken dish he went away. Feeling a little uneasy at that point being told that every dish has seafood, even if not listed, I decided it was best that I forgo on the chicken dish and walked up and told the manager that I was fine I didn't need anything to please forget the chicken.
Apparently this was very offensive and he came back to openly argue with me calling me his lady and telling me I need to learn to order and that his place wasn't McDonald's and his food needed time to cook. WTF?! Are we kidding me? I'm apologizing to the table next to us who look offended by him yelling at me, my husband is asking him not to yell at me and that trying to argue with me when all I'm trying to be is polite and make sure I don't get sick is insane. He proceeds to stomp away and start pointing to our table and talking to the staff.
I am blown away. I've worked in the resturant industry for most of my life and I travel A LOT for business and I have never meet a more rude, disrespectful staff member in any establishment like I did today at your resturant. Shame on you for treating your customers that way! You not only lost my husband and I as customers but also the table top of 4 next to us that were disgusted by your behavior. read more
