My local bookkeeper was bought by this franchise about 6 years ago. At first, it was fine, but…read morefast-forward a few years later, I was transferred to various different account people. Every few months I would need to correct them because of various mistakes they made. Luckily, I am very active in my day-to-day accounting. For the past 3-4 years when they issued my 1099s, they were unable to find the W9s from the year prior in my QuickBooks. I spent so much time telling them where everything was, when they had been my bookkeeper for over five years. Ultimately, they raised my hourly fee by $20 an hour and did not notify me. I trusted them so I unfortunately did not notice that they were billing me incorrectly for five months. They would also not show me any evidence of how long they actually worked on my books - QuickBooks activity had shown less than one hour in one month, but I was billed for four hours. When I notified them of some incorrect hourly billing, after a few emails back-and-forth, I was refunded part of my money with still no explanation except that they were doing "other things" in my account that took more time. I questioned what else took another 3 hours. They mentioned payroll also took time, but for me it only took about five minutes to run. Also, the owner Max, did not respond to any of my emails or requests. In my opinion, I would stay far far away from this company. I trusted them for many years, and I believe they took advantage of me.
