Spicy Marg & mocktail

Came with my bookie on a Thursday night, made a reservation & was sat within 10 minutes. He got the spicy marg and I got the Black & Gold (a mocktail). His was pretty basic, mine was way too vinegar-forward (4/10). For apps we got the Roasted Eggplant (6/10) room temperature, eggplant was a bit charred with made the skin inedible. & the Cap & Petal Mushrooms (7.25/10) too salty but good sauce and cool presentation Our entree was the mushroom pasta (very salty) pasta texture was good. It was pretty crowded with a patio event but once it quieted the vibe was nice.

Squid Ink Pasta

One of my favorite spots both for pasta and for brunch. Their seafood/ squid ink pasta is so good. They have a delicious classic brunch with eggs and bacon. What elevates it for me is actually the side salad that comes with the brunch, which has a great light salad dressing on it, as well as the breakfast potatoes. The service is always great and the restaurant has a beautiful, elevated but still comfortable feel.

We visited Indaco for the first time to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We had a reservation, so we were quickly seated. We chose outdoor seating, since it was evening, and the temperatures were agreeable. Our server was very good, and a manager came by twice to check on us. He was friendly and engaging - a real delight. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and would be happy to return.

Yesterday was our first time dining at Indaco. We made reservations easily on their website for us and my parents for a nice dinner before the holidays. Ambiance was great, as well as the location. Right downtown very walkable to everything. Our server was friendly but could have been more attentive and timely with the few things we had asked for. The food is why I'm giving this review only 3 stars which was a bummer for all of us. We started with the focaccia, the bread itself was great but the whipped pumpkin spice ricotta is where they lost me. It took away from the bread and was not good by itself so we asked for olive oil and balsamic to enjoy the rest. My fiance ordered osso bucco, honestly the worst we have ever had. It was so dry and hard, almost no sauce to accompany it-other than its own grease which was pooling around it. I had the radiatori, it wasn't bad and probably the best dish we ordered but felt it was average at best and could have been more flavorful. My mom ordered the squid ink pasta with shrimp, again dry with almost no sauce to coat the pasta. This spot could be so great given the location and ambiance but they just really miss the mark on the flavors and complexity of their meals. Would not recommend and will most likely not try again.

I had no expectations about Indaco prior to visiting on a recent Friday night. Made reservations through Open Table with no problem. We were promptly seated and served. The restaurant is very open and features an open kitchen concept and a rustic Italian food concept. I have read other reviews that criticize the decor, but they were not shooting for "intimate". Sometimes, just look up the restaurant website to see what they intend, which says this: "Italian for "indigo," Indaco's charm extends beyond the menu and into the modern space with wood-paneled ceilings, deep indigo tile accents, chef's counter seating, and an outdoor patio where guests can enjoy live music, specialty drinks, local brews, and other small bites outside of the main kitchen hours." Well, they nailed that. Our server was Joey. He represented Indaco with five star service. Couldn't have been better. Ask for Joey. One menu option is called "For The Table" where it is the chef's selection of courses to bring for $65 per person. "It all depends on what Chef thinks is coming out well today", said Joey. So we went with this. Starting out, we had four meatballs in sauce (polpette - certified angus beef, Providence Farm pork, basil, San Marzano DOP tomato, parmesan). These were a delicious and savory starter that went well with the accompanying focaccia & ricotta. Shortly after, we were delivered an octopus carpaccio server with shallots, olive vinaigrette, crispy capers, butter beans, parsley, almonds and this was mind-bendingly good. Off the charts. Next was a wood fired pizza, the Bianca Verde with garlic, fontina, whipped ricotta, prosciutto di parma, aged balsamic, arugula. I'm getting full and it was all fantastic. But, we were just warming up, so we asked Joey, "should we get these in some to-go boxes or keep them to nibble on?" Because we didn't know what was next. "Box 'em up." Next was the pasta dish, cavatelli served with carrots, dill, rye, caraway, ricotta salata in a sort of a light carrot sauce, almost like a carrot infused olive oil. Perfectly cooked al dente. And....the main dish was a fresh catch sea bass served with cap & petal mushrooms, risotto al salto, green garlic - the risotto was formed in a cake that sat in a shallow bowl with a broth around the base while the fish perched on top to retain the crispness. Served appropriately with spoons to capture the perfect bite of sauce, mushroom, risotto and fish. Lastly, a cheese cake round on a rosemary graham cracker crust with some muddled strawberries and whipped cream. And we washed it all down with a nice Pinot Noir enjoyed through the evening. We immediately made reservations for two weeks later on a Saturday night and plan to bring along another couple to enjoy this new find! I would add that in addition to Joey's excellent service, we were greeted by two managers, including Matthew, who just wanted to check on how things were going for our evening. And the answer was: "you get a 10."

Focaccia

We had a great dining experience for vday and will be back when it's less packed. Service was good, both meals were excellent. Focaccia was on the stale side but I imagine this has to do with it being such a high volume day and items having to be made in advance

The restaurant is located in the middle of downtown. Walking into the place, it is beautiful! Beautiful chefs counter too! The menu is straight forward. The service was great! The food had unique flavors and very fresh! I loved the flavor on the crispy potatoes. I would recommend trying it!

Feast of the Seven Fishes event menu

Fabulous! Love this restaurant. Have done family style at regular dining times and just did the Feast of the Seven Fishes special event. Simply amazing and outstanding!!!!

Cute Italian restaurant. Excellent and swift FOH service and staff. They checked on us throughout our meal. Excellent portions for the price. The bucatini was a bit salty, but the pizza was fantastic. Highly recommend this spot and the pizza.

Focaccia bread- so good. Tagliatelle pasta (with egg) and and pasta rotolo (with mozzarella on top). SO SO good

Went back to indaco recently and it was just as delicious!!! The focaccia is just so delicious- that and the meat balls are by far my fave apps. We also love the olive app if you're an olive fan. The Campanelle and radiatori pasta were both awesome. They did a candle in the tiramisu for our friends bday which was great and of course delicious. Their mini donut dessert is the standout, thought! The pizza was also great on our last visit too. It never disappoints!

Ravioli and beef bolognese pasta.

Let's start with the beautiful interior and move to the knowledgeable and personal staff. But put a cherry on the top with the out of the world food experience. From vino to made to order bread and creamy cheese with bacon and fresh herbs and finely chopped strawberries....and then the pasta...I could stop ... BUT.. I had the dessert and sorbet. Thank God I don't live locally or I would eat here weekly. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy this delicious food experience.

If I could give this restaurant, the vibes, the food, the service and THOUSAND stars I would because it is just too DAMN good here.. I wish I remembered the name of everything we ordered but honestly you cannot go wrong here drink and food wise. If you live here or are visiting, please put this place on your list!!!! There was 2 of us that dined on the outside patio for dinner, there was only a couple tables both inside and outside that weren't seated (in my mind I knew this place was going to be good because of that). Our server was amazing! He helped us figure out what to drink and eat, he even talked us into getting dessert. And I am not mad nor let down by any of his recommendations. I dream about this place.... I will be coming back

We took our time settling in and started with the mozzarella and focaccia (so good!) and the meatball--because you can't visit an Italian place without the essentials. For our mains, we ordered the short rib ragu and the verde lasagna. The lasagna was especially memorable--you could really taste the fresh spinach, which gave it a light, refreshing flavor. To top it all off, the wonderful Mr. Flannegan came out to sing "Happy Birthday" and brought their amazing cannoli. Such a fun and memorable touch to an already fantastic meal!

It was very clean, and the atmosphere is one of its strongest assets. We sat outside overlooking Fluor Field, which made for a really enjoyable setting. The outdoor patio was comfortable, and the new awnings provided great shade, making it easy to relax even in the sun. Service was excellent from start to finish. Attentive, and professional. No complaints there at all. For drinks, I ordered a carajillo, which was very well done. The food is where things started to fall short. We began with the long hot stuffed peppers. The dish only comes with two peppers, so the portion felt a bit small. The sausage itself was decent, but it was severely lacking seasoning, and the sauce didn't add much to elevate it. The verde lasagna followed a similar trend. The pasta itself was clearly good quality, but the overall dish was underwhelming and lacking depth of flavor. The scallop dish was the best of what we tried. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the asparagus was fresh, and the risotto had a good texture. Unfortunately, even here, the dish still felt like it was missing seasoning and bold flavor, which was a recurring theme throughout the meal. Given the upscale setting and prime location, expectations are understandably higher and so are the prices. That said, the portion sizes and overall flavor didn't quite justify the cost in my opinion. Overall, a great location with excellent service and ambiance, but the food needs more seasoning and depth to truly match the setting and price point.

5 stars for the lunch experience! Friday at lunch hour, hit…read morethe door at 12:09. Pretty open seating, but those 11 big, comfortable bar seats were inviting, with only one other occupied. Since the bartender was active in serving tables along with the host, the bar seemed like a great choice for my part of just me. I was immediately provided a menu and drink and by 12:11 my order of a six inch two topping pizza with side salad was in the system. And it's a good deal for $14.50 (no drink included). By 12:14 my salad arrives and it is a nice mix of arugula, spinach, radicchio with sliced cherry tomatoes and a half hard boiled egg cut into thirds, side dressing or ranch. This is a healthy portion for a side salad. 12:24 salad finished, plate cleared and 12:28 my pizza clears the oven and is on the pass window. By 12:30 it's in front of me with shakers of grated Parmesan and red chili pepper accompanying. They self-describe their pizza style as "Ohio style." Which means, thicker vs thinner, crispy bottom, slightly chewy/doughier center or middle, sauce (in this order), fresh toppings, cheese on top. Their sauce is made in house with their own "secret" recipe and it is aged for the week - meaning made in a large batch the end of the week before so the flavors can get well acquainted and improve with a couple of days to mellow through. Their sauce cheese is a cheese blend, also made in house. Their sauce sauce is slightly sweet, very slightly spicy in a tangy way and generously applied. It is also molten hot out of the oven. The cheese is bubbly and getting good color in the oven and a significant distinction is that it is cheesed edge to edge. There is no significant pizza edge here, which I credit as a good thing, it is a full pizza. The actual edge does have an extra crunch to it, but it is much more of a part of the pizza than those "pizza bones" edges you see elsewhere that only half of the folks eat. Although there was one girl I knew 35 years ago in college who exclusively liked the crust remains. She probably wouldn't appreciate the thoroughness of these pizza proportions. I did get a mid-meal check in, "everything good" from the bartender and an "all done" at the end, which is just enough attention, after all, I came here to have a hot, good, quick meal and get some alone time before going back to the office. Perfect. By 12:51 I'm on my way. The portion is very good, almost thought to get a box to go for that last slice, but soldiered through it to enjoy this Ohio style pizza. This is a good lunch value, feels healthier with the salad, hits the timing just right and has the value and quality marks too.

So the man behind the scene has been doing this for over 40 years. He makes everything by hand…read more Sauce, sausage, dough etc. I think he knows what he's doing. Anyway, from the moment you come in, the staff gives you a warm welcome. There are a few things on the menu. I ordered the 6 inch pizza with 2 topping. It was piled high with cheese and sauce. The sauce had a little twang, which was nice. I sat at the bar where they have a big selection of TV shows on. The music, on this day, was some really good rock oldies. The service was excellent. The outside was a little bit hard to identify as Kyle's. At least I didn't see a sign while driving by. But quite obvious it was the right place. The food was good. I would go back the next time I'm in town. Price was good for a lunch special. Totally a family owned restaurant and family friendly.
