Before entering the mall you do have to go through a metal detector and your purse gets scanned. Make sure you look at the ceiling to observe the beautiful art work. On the top floor, where the food court is, there is a an outdoor patio with a beautiful view of the Mosque across the street.

This is a really nice mall. It is several stories tall with a mixture clothing, cosmetic, jewelry,…read moreetc. My favorite places to go though were the home stores.....They were very successful in getting me to open up my pocketbook! There is a food court, not necessarily a sit down restaurant - but you can find some good food. It is just down the street from the Grand Sheraton, and there is a nice park across the street. It is also in close proximity to downtown and all is very walkable when you want to walk off that ice cream you just had. It is definitely a place I would go back to.

Bring located with walking distance of the front gate is great, but being in the ally is annoying at the same time. Being constantly haggled to come look into every Turkish store is annoying after the first maybe second visit give or take. My advice...run into the store as quick as you can before you walk away buying more than you planned. :-)

All of the meats like ground beef, steak, chuck roast, chicken and pork are frozen. You will need to thaw your meat before using. Therefore you will need to buy it in advance to thaw. Produce section is good. Make sure to inspect vegetables. When selecting vegetables, specifically bean sprouts, take a good look at them. To me, they always look on the limp side.

As you start walking through the isles you will notice that if you can find an item you are looking for (cookies, crackers, etc) you might find the main type of item, but the different varieties are lacking. For example, you will find Goldfish in regular, extra cheddar, and maybe two other flavors. That goes for most of your other items. You have a decent fresh/frozen meat section, but you need to stock up each paycheck since I have witnessed days of shortages after big weekend events or major holidays. Good luck buying hotdogs after a major weekend...Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc. =) The deli is very limited on the deli meats and cheeses if you are looking for something besides honey ham, smoked turkey, Cajun chicken, roast beef, and your basic cheese flavors. The dairy/cold sections has a decent varitey of cheeses, yogurts, etc. They offer a small bakery that makes cakes, donuts, and fresh bread. I will say that the bakery breads are delicious! The employees are very friendly and speak very good English for the most part. I am even surprised they remember you pretty quickly and will even say hi to you by name as you come in sometimes. I would give this location a two star for the limits, but the employees are hard working and eager to help if you have a question, concern, or simply to say hi..to me that's worth an extra star. =)

He is very friendly and accommodating, but after a while I got the feeling he could be very pushy on his sales. I cut my trip short and bought what I came for. I had to come back another time to look and purchase a couple of lamps for a friend to ship back to the states. He helped me find the lamps and boxed/wrapped them nicely to ship. His prices are reasonable for the alley, but I know you can find handmade, authentic Turkish lamps for a much more reasonable price in other regions. He has to order his lamps and it usually takes around a week to receive the order. My first evil eye lamp I bought was made of very thin glass. I ended up returning it for a smaller evil eye lamp that was made with much thicker glass. Fuat took back my previous lamp and exchanged it outright...no questions asked! His shop also had other gift items...wine glass/decanter sets, knives, other misc small gift options. Stop by and check it out...you might find a neat treasure you haven't found yet.
