First time , let's see how it is
Angel G.

So it's been awhile since I've had some good lomo saltado , and it's been quite a few times I passed through upland and seen this spot here idk how long it's been here but I've never noticed it , I usually go west for Lomo Covina/LA area so today I stopped through upon arriving I was helped instantly the lady up front was very nice and helpful I wanted some chicken but they didn't have any today they said this weekend forsure no biggie I mainly came for the Lomo .... It's a nice little spot forsure gram fit a group of 8 in there as well as 4 other groups of 4 also .. so it's kinda roomy so now let me get to the main part I finally finished my meal and I won't lie I'm a little upset , it didn't hit like I thought it would ... the green sauce was off a little something was missing the white rice seemed like wet still basically , I'm assuming it needed to be cooked more ? Idk but over all the lomo plate was a solid 5/10 ... my ratings are based off everything else but yeah will I rush back here again no will I try it another time and give it a shot and maybe today was just one of those days yes I will , but don't let this stop you from trying it out !

We ate lunch here on a Tuesday around 1:45pm. The restaurant is in a strip mall right next to a Baskin Robbins and a donut shop alongside a Brandon's Diner. Very small restaurant but you definitely get a South american vibe by the decor and the tv programs that play. The waiter we had was nice and checked on us frequently. My girl had the lomo saltado. That is by far the most popular dish at any Peruvian restaurant we have been so I wanted to get something I hadn't really seen before. I elected to get a beef and ulloco stir fry. I don't recall the proper name so I don't want to butcher it on here. My dish was very well seasoned, in fact, the rice itself was a bit on the salty side. I did finish it however. The Lomo was decent, not the best we have had but a worthy rendition indeed. 3.50 for a can of soda is a bit on the expensive side without refills. Portions are huge so you won't leave hungry that's for sure. Glad we gave it a try.

The best ceviche and lomo saltada !! we always come here just for these plates. never disappoints!

Cozy little restaurant. Clean and well lit. Service was really attentive but not over bearing. I ordered the Tuca Tuca. Essentially grilled steak, tomato, and onion seasoned just like Lomo Saltado, but over rice and white beans instead of fries. The plate was huge and very flavorful. I could eat this everyday. Price was very fair considering quality of food and portion size. Highly recommended!

Staff was friendly and food came out fast. Ordered the lomo saltado which was good but the papa a la Huancaina was very bland, very small portion, did not include egg and was $9. For being the most expensive appetizer on the menu, I was disappointed.

Absolutely disappointed! I had forgotten why we hadn't returned. Ordered Lomo Saltado and yucca. The Lomo Saltado was very dry and tough. We had to make our own sauce, that's what we are pouring. The fries were just dumped in not sautéed with the meat. The sauces were watered down and no flavor. We will not be returning.

Food: 111111111/10 Customer service: 1111111/10 Overall: This is our new go-to Peruvian spot forsure Came by today because it is my Peruvian partner's birthday tomorrow and he picked this spot! We were greeted immediately by a man who im assuming is the manager or owner. He let us sit anywhere we liked and gave us our menus promptly! We already knew what we wanted so we got the Lomo Saltado and the arroz frito/chaufa de mariscos (seafood fried rice) also two Inca Kolas because you can't have Peruvian without the Inca Kolas!!! The wait for the food was maybe 10-15 mins, not bad at all! We added yucca frita maybe 5 minutes after because we totally forgot that we like to try that at every Peruvian spot we go to! The Lomo came first and then the yucca and then the fried rice just a couple minutes later, everything was hot and fresh and smelled so amazing! Lomo saltado: 20/10 meat was tender, seasoned beautifully and the tomatoes and onions were perfectly cooked, not mushy like most spots do it, fries were on point! Seafood fried rice: 9/10 my partner said I wish it had a little bit more meat but other that than it was delicious and seasoned well, the portions were huge! Definitely would recommend to anyone who is Peruvian or not but looking to try some delicious cuisine! *we ate here around 12:30 on a Friday afternoon and it was completely empty!* Show them some love!!!

Anybody know the updated hours? Yelp says open on Sunday till 9pm but we went there at 6pm and they were closed.

Does anyone know their new COVID hours? My family and I have been trying to order takeout, and coming to the restaurant on different days and hours to no avail :( they're…

We have ordered several times by phone for pick up. Typically weekends between 4-5pm. Never an issue. Food is great when we get it home.

The place was pretty empty, yet the service was still very slow .To be fair, there was only one girl handling everything!! seating guests, taking orders, and serving food, while another man would occasionally come by to drop something off and then disappear. The food was the biggest letdown. The sauce was extremely dark, thick, and bland, with abt 6 large bay leaves in it. It also had a very bitter taste that overpowered everything. On top of that, the menu is very limited, only two combo options. If you want crab and shrimp together, you're forced to buy them separately, and it's not cheap The only upside was that they had a deal where if you spend over $70 before tax, you get a free item from a selected list. Also, the crab meat and shrimp themselves were very meaty and fresh, which is the main reason I'm giving this place two stars instead of one. Overall, I wouldn't return. The food , service and price just weren't worth it.

To my taste, this is by far the best Star Crab location I've been to…read more The owner and staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from start to finish, which already sets the tone. The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

A Saturday night visit. We wanted a spot that wasnt overly crowded at 745pm. We were seated right…read moreaway, but they initially placed us at a table in the middle that was too small for our group of six, so we requested a booth along the wall instead. They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

FANTASTIC PLACE FOR FOOD AND A PARTY!…read more I had the privilege of being invited to a party with some friends who had booked their event with Sea Queen Restaurant and I cannot deny that I was only impressed with the food, decor, staff, and the entire experience. If you are interested in booking your own event here, I recommend it. If you have no events coming up and just want some amazing food, still come here for that too! Amazing dishes are cooked and served here. It is mostly Vietnamese cuisine that you would find here, but hey... who doesn't enjoy this kind of cuisine? There is so much this restaurant has to offer.
