Although this little miracle of a gem is located in a small town in northern Portugal, it is one of…read morethe few salons that I trust to touch my long tresses. Being the picky customer that I am very rarely do I get impressed by the work of most hair stylists but this place and most notably Cristina Mota, the owner and artist behind the brand. Having had years of experience not only working in France but also as an instructor in many parts of Europe, she brings with her an amazing talent abs an artistic approach to her work. She's professional, attentive, experiences, creative but above all a warm soul with an inviting personality and smile. Aside from making you feel like a star she's warm and inviting making you feel right at home from the start. Whenever I am fortunate enough to come by this part of the world I will not go without making an appointment to see Cristina. And the other huge plus, unlike the exuberant prices of the US markets, the prices for hair services are a fraction of what you'll pay for her services, which is typical of many European small towns. The way it should be. It floors me how much I pay for same or similar services in the US. For instance I had my hair colored, balayage, wash and blow dried for around $90. In the US I get that same device done for around $250. Insane! Although I have to admit the salaries and cost of living in these smaller European towns are much less than in the US but even so I do believe the hair industry and some salons the prices have gone beyond absurd. Nonetheless I highly recommend anyone living or visiting this part of Portugal to make an appointment with Cristina and experience her amazing talent.

Terrible in the following ways:…read more - they charged me more (20 euros instead of 15 euros) even though the price on the window - she was very unsanitary (even though she says she is) as I saw her take out a "sterilized" cuticular clipper and it still had remnants of someone else's cuticles on it (gross) - she cut me at my cuticle and did not seem to care (didn't even offer for me to wash my hand) - she mocked me in front of all of the patrons at the shop and laughed at me when I wanted to get my nails done This was very offensive as a tourist that she didn't care to do a good job, was absolutely unsanitary, and unprofessional. It is a cheap place for a reason. Spend a bit extra and go up the street or to a legitimate place. It's worth the it to pass this place, believe me.
