This place invents lovely combinations of flowers to give as gifts, and seems to change the bouquets designs daily - just to keep things as fresh as its flowers. However, it also does the classics perfectly. How many Brummies have heard the words 'I love you' accompanied by a Sutton Flower's single red rose? At certain times of the year things become a little different. Easter sees blooms that reflect the festivities, and at Christmas it's also possible to get gifts, cards and wrapping paper. I like to visit just after work, when Birmingham is winding down after a long day. This is when there are bargains to be had, as Sutton Flowers sells off the day's stock ready to start afresh the next day. They have a lovely selection of beautiful flowers, vases, and small gifts. As you walk in you'll notice a large glass fridge with big fresh flowers kept inside. The service in here is well above and beyond. Jo is the manager and is very friendly, happy to answer any question that you may have. They cater for weddings, exhibitions, dinner dances, events..... and so on. They are also part of the NEC, so have no problem fitting out for large exhibitions. A couple of days ago I brought a really nice mixed bunch of flowers from this place for about six quid. The chap who runs the stall (who is ever so nice) didn't have any change so said he'd have to owe me one (cheeky wink) and I smiled and mumbled something about 'holding him to that' and walked away and thought to myself a) what a nice bunch of flowers b) I should really write about this place So I decided I would take a photo and then maybe pop back and have a chat with him to find out his company name etc. Unfortunately as I was taking said photo the bloke shot me a really sad look - I think he thought I was so cheesed off that he'd not been able to give me my 5p change that I was somehow logging him for future reference, so instead of going over and explaining I jumped on the nearest Harborne bound bus. To cut a long, not very interesting story short I'm not sure what the stall is called but I do know it's just by The Great Western Arcade and outside Sainsbury's and it's worth getting flowers from it because they last for ages. Plus he does really decadent looking bouquets of sunflowers and lillies rather than the usual bedraggled bunches of carnations that you might get at the bigger supermarkets. And if you do see him, tell him not to worry about that 5p!

The lady was very helpful and flowers got delivered well in time. When I arrived at the house of the bereaved and saw the flowers are was very impressed. They were lovely and I felt I got good value for money. From my experience I would definitely reccomend.

Both wonderfully decorated and well cared for, many florists should take note. They cover any occasion that you may have requiring flowers. They offer bridal and wedding services, contracts for flower arrangements, handmade bespoke flower arrangements, gifts, toys and teddies to accessorise, and even have a licence to sell champagne and wine! After all, we're not exactly spoilt for choice for shops in Brindleyplace! However, the flowers are stunning and they offer some amazing arrangements. I've noticed, Ethos have started an on-line service now too so you can order gifts that they will send for you. I especially love the flowers in a teacup and saucer which is unique in an arena where it must be so hard to come up with new ways of arranging flowers. Ethos are clearly very adept at organising arrangements for events too and furthermore it's great to see a business thrive after ten years!

I'm definitely NOT saying they were rude, but that I feel In Bloom has a slight edge on them in that respect. All in all, another great florist in the JQ.

They have all possible kinds of souveniers with the British flag: tea towels, mugs (of course), pencil cases, pen shaped like royal guards. Personally I have a soft spot for this kind of tat but I can see how it could make some people turn up their noses. The crystal part of Eon Crystal? I'm not sure... maybe the cubes with photos in? Take a photo of your loved one and forever immortalise them in a... crystal cube. Alternatively, if you don't want a crystallised version of your photo you can get it printed on a canvas, t-shirt or mug, necklace, mouse mat, jigsaw... It's based inside the Indoor Market so it's nice and cheap. Basically, I would only really recommend the store if you are a non English tourist and you wanna take some tacky souvenirs to some of your relatives (the wife loves buying this stuff for all of her relatives in Brazil).
